Whether the nurse was fired or not is a small, insignificant detail to my broader point. He surely didn't seem to be working a lot this month - choosing to be a professional agitator instead.
do you not know anyone in health care? A lot of us don’t work more than 3/4 days a week due to length of shift, burn out from dealing with dumbasses like you, etc

Two more Minnesota children — a second grader and a fifth grader — were taken into custody with their mother on Thursday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

The children are from the same Columbia Heights elementary school as Liam Conejo Ramos, the 5-year-old whose detainment by ICE last week gripped the Twin Cities and the nation as images of the small boy flanked by agents in his winter hat circulated online.

Columbia Heights school officials said Thursday’s detention happened after agents apprehended the children’s mother during her court appointment earlier that day.

...
Kuhlman said the children’s mother called the school early Thursday to tell them she’d been detained and asked school leaders to bring the kids to her at the Whipple Federal Building near Fort Snelling because there were no family members in Minnesota to care for them.

“We had to deliver them to a detention center,” Kuhlman said.

“The kids were with us. They were safe. They feel comfortable with us because we’re caring adults. But to ask educators to deliver them is horrible, you know?” he added. “I will always abide by a parent’s wishes. And she wanted to be reunited with the boys. She wanted to go together. But great goodness (for ICE) to put us in a position like that. I don’t have words.”

He said the boys cried when he told them what was happening and were frightened and asked to hold a school nurse’s hand when they walked into the Whipple Building.

“She was holding both their hands. It’s a lot of people in there with guns and weapons and formality and security and masks,” said Leslee Sherk, principal of Columbia Academy, another Columbia Heights school leader who helped deliver the children to the Whipple Building.

“It is not a place for kids,” she added. “It's scary.”
...

Sherk and Kuhlman said they brought the mother’s immigration paperwork with them and asked to be allowed to take her and her children back to the family’s home since they had the documentation to prove the family’s lawful presence in the U.S.

They said they learned a judge had also issued an order requiring the mother and her children not be deported.

“There are so many people that are following the rules and doing the right thing and how we how we handle that says a lot about who we are and how we follow the laws,” Sherk said. “She was doing what she was supposed to be doing.”

He hasn't "worked" a day in his life. He cannot relate. What we do in occupations like law, real estate, administration isnt really work. They are vocations and they are mostly necessary and sometimes socially responsible, but they really aren't work in the way things like Healthcare are because they dont tax the body simultaneously with the mind. I salute what you folks do because Healthcare is a hard damned job.

Ive worked and I have gotten paid for what my mind can produce. I do the latter now and I do not miss the former.

I don’t disagree with this. I’ve never claimed that being a lawyer is a more taxing or worthwhile profession than those who work in the healthcare profession - particularly those who work in hospitals.

My own mother, btw, was a pediatric nurse.

MAGA then: “I support the 2nd amendment so when a tyrannical US government starts taking away my rights and brutalizing its citizens, I can SHOOT THEM DEAD!!!

MAGA now: “Anything more than standing quietly with a sign and out of the way is really all you should do.”

And was she the one who raised you to lie so frequently and with no regard for truth?

Truer now more than ever.

Again. I appreciate your candor. i'm out here by the beach in Los Angeles and, while this is nasty, as passionate about the topic or approach as that....but people are.

I wasn't calling you out because there's not 300 million people out in the streets... just saying that while your position was understandable, other people feel differently and there's enough here that could bring about change.

I wasn't demonizing you... I'm just saying that those people aren't idiots and the type of passion they have is sometimes what's required in these moments.
Appreciate that! I didn't take any offense nor will I ever take any offense at another Tar Heel brother!

Im a young dumb kid with just a HS education who is navigating all this political turmoil with what I think is an openmind free from much persuasion as a younger kid. No one in my family is political which might be a good thing for me in the long run. The next election will be my first as a legal of age voter so Im excited about it.

I feel I have a unique and personal take on the immigration issues because they are my neighbors, my co-workers and, most importantly, my friends here in Siler City. There is a large population of legals and illegals. I can state without a doubt that no legals I know and hang with are afraid of the possibility they might get caught up in all this mess by mistake. They love it here and accept that it's just part of the deal for the privilege to be here. It's not like enforcement is a new thing. Its happened plenty of times in the past around here. It was local news, but doubt it was national news like it is now. The illegals, on the other hand, you better bet your ass they are.

Sorry for the long ass post, homies lol. I'll state again anyone who is tempting their fate seeking out and engaging with any type of badge and gun carrying enforcement bullies aren't very bright knowing what I know.
