I mean you can verify it for yourself. Not doing so is willful ignorance
The only numbers that I can find are from ICE and DHS who, the only times they are not lying and misrepresenting, are busy lying about their misrepresentations and misrepresenting their lies. It seems that they are so indiscriminate and secretive no one really knows who or what they have in custody.

And the numbers in the cbs report? How about the numbers in the NY Post story today about 7,000 in NY system? CBS obviously confident enough to publish them.

Who is it that just bought CBS and has almost ruined its reputation for journalism? Can you link to someone not so obviously for sale?

I didn’t post the article. I read it on here. My thought is that CBS went with it because they thought it contradicted trump’s claims. I don’t think it was written, based on the way it was written to benefit trump.

Im not a huge believer in polls because they can be so easily manipulated so I generally disregard until I have had time to look at numerous polls. But there is info in the DHS document that could easily be refuted if false, or gray areas identified.

I believe the provenance and veracity of statistics from DHS to the same degree I trust it from DHHS or the “Department of War” or whoever fudges the economic data.

I know. I wish I could be that blissfully cynical. I just can’t relate to that mindset.

As an old -I remember the Vietnam stats Dead enemy bullshit reports

As of early February 2026, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that federal law enforcement has arrested
more than 4,000 individuals identified as criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota since the launch of "Operation Metro Surge".
Key details regarding these arrests include:
  • Targeted Individuals: DHS reports that those arrested include individuals with convictions for violent crimes, such as murder, rape, sexual assault of minors, kidnapping, and domestic assault, as well as gang members.
  • Operation Timeline: These arrests have occurred since the initiation of Operation Metro Surge, which began in late 2025.
  • Broader Figures: Some federal officials have reported up to 10,000 total arrests of undocumented individuals in Minnesota since the start of the current administration's term in early 2025, although local reports note that specific, verified data on these figures is difficult to independently confirm.
  • Detainers: DHS has stated they have over 1,360 active detainers for criminals in Minnesota jails and have criticized state, county, and city officials for not turning these individuals over to immigration authorities.
  • Operation Focus: The operations specifically target "public safety threats," including individuals with prior criminal convictions or final orders of removal.
The figures are part of an intensified federal enforcement effort in Minnesota, with DHS officials calling for more cooperation from local authorities.
So much effort and disruption to produce such low numbers. They estimate 20 million undocumented immigrants in the US, yet boast about numbers like 4,000 and 10,000

There are estimated to be around 4 million undocumented immigrants in Florida and Texas, two states where Trump has full support of the state government. What kind of numbers are they producing in those states?

Do you think CBS is biased against Trump?

Do you think CBS is biased against trump?
Historically it has been left leaning so yes. New mgt. has made an effort to balance that somewhat.

Did you read the article? If so, do you think that article was pro trump, anti trump, or an effort to just report facts (neutral).

Do not know. Haven’t looked. I don’t think anyone is disputing that trump is going after blue states in large part for political reasons. At least I believe he is. I also think it is a logical place to start. Sanctuary cities / states should draw large numbers of illegal immigrants.

Do you have an opinion on the cbs article?
