"It appears that in planning for Operation Metro Surge, the government failed to plan for the constitutional rights of its civil detainees. The government suggests—with minimal explanation and even less evidence—that doing so would result in 'chaos.' The Constitution does not permit the government to arrest thousands of individuals and then disregard their constitutional rights because it would be too challenging to honor those rights."

I remember having a, let's politely say, discussion with one of our now-absent members on exactly the last sentence here. This bright mind was awfully critical of the legal eagles on this board, but, for some reason, couldn't show me where the "but it's hard" exception to due process is.

How can we take any claims made by or on behalf of DHS, ICE or CPB seriously anymore? The breadth and depth institutional lying is insane at this point.

Or DOJ, DoD, or State for that matter. I guess Bessent doesn't lie because he never talks about specifics; he just gaslights.

The only one who ever tells the truth even a little is Brooke Rollins. I believe her when she says you can guy a piece of chicken, a broccoli spear and a corn tortilla for $3. Of course the truth of that claim is damning in its own right, but anyway

Quick turnabout from DHS public claims of attempted murder of law enforcement to case dismissed by government.

Tom Homan said the Minneapolis surge is ending with a total number of immigrant arrests at 4,000.

3,000 agents there for more than 2 months, with all this noise and disruption and the total comes in at 1.3 immigrants removed per agent.
I’m unclear of what Homan is saying. Is ICE being pulled out completely from Minneapolis of is he just ending the previously order increase (surge) of officers, with existing numbers remaining for now?
