I had been saying the same thing for a while, but I was told it was defeatist to think that way so I tried to remain positive. However when i look at them, I don't see people who are worried about consequences of any sort legal, moral, electoral.
 




It would be so nice if we had a functional opposition party right now. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are unfathomably feckless subservient cucks of the highest magnitude. The President of the United States has his own personal Schutzstaffel that is going around pepper spraying high school students and blowing the faces off of soccer moms. Maybe now is not the time for strongly worded letters of disappointment or following the rules like good little boys!

I’ll admit that I’ve been letting that thought creep into my mind recently but what I keep coming back to that makes me feel better is that I don’t think they’d have been so desperate for all of the redistricting fuckassery if they felt invincible or confident about the election. And the good news is elections are administered on the state and local level.

We have a two tier system for how the public is allowed to engage with federal authorities. Liberals can be killed for being defiant even when they pose no threat.

Conservatives can storm the capitol by the thousands, attack and overrun federal police, and 99.99% will come out unharmed. Conservatives can literally spend days with rifles pointed at federal officers (Bundy standoff in Nevada) and nothing happens.

But a soccer mom tries to drive away from ICE and she deserves to be gunned down.

I don't know anything about the law, but it strikes me to be a problem for Vance on the one hand to claim the shooter did nothing wrong and to also to say he should get immunity. Immunity for what then?
 
This shouldn't be that hard for Democrats. Yes, force a shutdown on ICE funding is an idea. But if nothing else they can demand a vote on making sure the state gets to investigate this too. Let the Republicans explain why they won't allow a vote on a local investigation since they are the ones who have to clean up the mess after the Feds are gone. What, are they suddenly all about trusting the Feds?
