What we need now is an investigation of every time DHS has claimed a vehicle has been “weaponized” against ICE/FBP etc. it appears that has become a go to claim to justify just about anything and it is difficult not to wonder whether agents are being trained to create opportunities to make such claims in any apprehension involving a vehicle, particularly since activists are advising volunteers to use their own vehicles to track, slow and/or identify (by beeping horns or bowing whistles) unmarked ICE vehicles.

I said during the Presidential election that Republicans were playing for keeps this time and the Trump admin's actions over the past year have only reinforced that belief. They do not plan on reliquishing power.
 
It is not surprising that as law enforcement uses increasingly aggressive methods in vehicular pursuits there would be a corresponding increase in vehicular accidents as targets try to avoid capture. And a lot of these alleged “ramming” and “weaponized vehicle” incidents may well be accurately described as criminal use of a vehicle by a law enforcement target with the intent to elude capture with disregard for the safety of law enforcement or with intent to injure law enforcement.

But it seems like it has also become a convenient cover for all kinds of inappropriate agent behavior by ICE and Border Patrol agents.

It is also worth considering how the conservative movement to legalize use of a vehicle against protesters may have influenced both the views of Americans about using their vehicles as weapons and of law enforcement of how to claim weaponized vehicle attacks and use their own vehicles and approach to suspects to initiate contact (the law enforcement equivalent of flipping to draw a charge).

Florida, Iowa, Louisiana and Oklahoma have statutes protecting people who strike, injure and/or kill pedestrians during protests (if the driver is in fear of the situation). Stand your ground with a moving vehicle.

The videos where she is talking to her maga self are often pretty funny. In this case, I think she's wrong, though. Ice agents can detain a US citizen if that US citizen is interfering with their operations, which this woman was by blocking the road.

So, unfortunately, I suspect this will go the same way as every similar police shooting, which is to say that the ice agent will not be charged because his "life" was threatened.

So...JV Vance's release of the Ross's video...

1. Shows Ms. Good cooperating and explaining their purpose

2. Shows 1.5 open lanes going the same way with a clear path in the one-way street.

3. The Honda Pilot is located where I have outlined in images.

4. A car moves quickly and unimpeded through the wide gap with no ice or snow on the asphalt surface.

5. The ICE fake police rapidly crosses the front of the vehicle, against law enforcement training

6. The video shows Ms. Good backing up and turning her wheels hard to the right, which would be down the street and away from Ross. She didn't even wait for her wife to get in - Ms Good's clear intent was getting the hell out of Dodge.

7. By the time Ross rapidly drops and puts away the phone to take out the gun and fires he is already outside the Pilot's path and therefore not in any danger while he takes 3 shots. One from an angle and the other two from the side before calling her a f*cking b*tch.

8. Ross' actions are clearly one with (a) poor training and (b) PTSD from a previous incident.

Therefore, based on accumulating evidence, Ross is guilty of second-degree murder as defined by federal law:

Any intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned. A situation in which the killer intends only to inflict serious bodily harm, knowing this could result in death but with no specific intent to kill, constitutes depraved-heart murder, which can be considered as second-degree murder.

Ross' alleged training would make him aware that he is (mis)using deadly force.
