I only got banned once. But I asked fur it. Literally. Needed a break And got one for 24 hours.

Ask Me Anything. It's not a ask a question then argue/ignore/move goal posts and repeat ad nauseam because you don't like the answer. One or two back and forth posts with follows for clarity. Sure. 30 pages of festivus-level greivance airing about biased internet mods simply because the answer didn't meet some arbitrary level of satisfaction. No
Upvote for festivus-level greivance airing...

How many posters have actually complained? Handful? Isn't that what snoop invited? And isn't there just as much effort by those arguing why the bans were fair and vice versa? I mean that is the nature of the thread.
I imagine you have a different perspective, but from my POV this thread has been 30 pages of Snoop politely peeling back the veil to show how and why decisions were made on the ZZLP... and handful of posters with an axe to grind spending 30 pages demonstrating exactly what behavior got them their ban in the first place.

This is not your paper where people have decades of experience and mentorship under their belts to learn the finer points of how to do things in a fair and balanced way. They don't get salaries to support their families while they spend hours in unconscious bias training courses to ensure every decision made is 100% fair.

What they get is daily anger and hate spewed their way for an unpaid 24/7 job that they can't quit even if they want to, because 90% of the people offered turn it down... and they care too much about the community to just quit without a trained replacement.

I've never been banned, but I took several long breaks from IC. Typically I would stop visiting the site for a month or two every so often, but once I took almost a year off from fall of 2020 until fall of 2021. The shitposting on the COVID thread was my primary motivation for such a long break. I would have likely been banned had I not taken that break.

I think I have expressed appreciation for what I know is a thankless job. I think mostly the disagreement is how well it was done. I don't think this thread indicates much more than a handful of folks saying they felt it was uneven and then a multitude of folks calling them whiny. Etc. I complained as much as anyone at one time but don't think of it much until snoop started this thread. It certainly has gotten plenty of action.

that sounds very ZZL familiar

Your case I think was a bit unusual. Overnight you went from a known public figure with a job which required you to maintain a more or less neutral stance on any political topic... to a pretty hard right leaning person (by board standards).

You I think relished in it a bit, as I'm sure you'd had to bite your tongue a thousand times prior. But the board had no idea how much your true opinions varied from your public persona, so it seemed to posters here like you'd had some sort of sudden personality shift. You also went from somebody who stayed out of almost every fight... to somebody who enjoyed punching back in every fight.

I always thought the board reacted poorly to your retirement... but I also think you enjoyed having the muzzle suddenly removed so you could bite back.

I think that is fair.. I doubt anyone on here could name a hard right position I have expressed on here.

I hate I missed that. That sounds like it was interesting. We butted heads a bit before the boards split and I left. I always knew that he was considerably right, at least by my standards, but never had any issues. to my knowledge, other than different POVs.

I feel like this was a lot of words to say, "Snoop's an idiot, but it's not his fault, and we should appreciate him anyway."
