You know, I searched one time for a public statement from Trump that described the size of the wall he wanted. I figured it would be easy to find something that said from California to the Gulf of Mexico. Nope. Couldn’t find a single linked statement that ever mentioned the length of the wall. It was all implication.
How much did Mexico pay... I think it was all of it but I can't find any records of a payment?

Looks like we’ve got family detention centers and separations coming back. Huzzah, Team Trump. We’ve still got kids who haven’t been reunited with their families from the last time I believe.

Do you apply that same logic to healthcare?
I apply a different logic to healthcare. You are lumping two separate issues together that aren't even remotely the same. Either you knew that and were just trying to be a smartass. Or you really thought the same logic applies to both. I'm hoping it was just being a smartass.

1. That post was from August.

2. Are you also HeelYeah? Because that would actually explain a lot.

this is old but i just saw it. fwiw, the executive order states that the policy is to:

secure the southern border of the United States through the immediate construction of a physical wall on the southern border, monitored and supported by adequate personnel so as to prevent illegal immigration, drug and human trafficking, and acts of terrorism;

i dont think "implication" is the right word for that. saying that the border will be secured by a physical wall is pretty much saying it has to extend all the way. thats how you would interpret that statement as an attorney, yes? otherwise nothing will be secured. yet another problem with walls.

I realize it was from august. I don't post here that often. The topic is still very much relevant today and given the changes in the political world over the last 5 months it is certainly worthy of revisiting.

There are so few conservatives on here I guess we all "look alike" huh? I find HeelYeah to be less sarcastic and more patient than I am.

Well, MAGA and Pubs only care about white kids, as long as they're straight and "Christians."

I think that is definitely the implication. And I’d have no problem with your interpretation of his words.

That said “A wall on the border” is not the same thing as a wall on the border from sea to shining sea. One foot of wall on the border is a wall “on the border”.

one foot of wall on the border does not remotely "secure" the border and thus the interpretation is foreclosed by the reg.

You don't need a contiguous wall to secure the border, either. Hundreds of miles of the border is physically inaccessible due to natural geographical obstacles and lack of infrastructure.

If you can find some place Trump described the actual length of the wall he planned to build, I'd appreciate the link because, like you, I had the distinct impression he actually said he would build a wall across the entire length of the southern border.

I know. I’m the first person to draw an analogy ever.

But perhaps you can explain why “if we aren’t doing what the rest of the world is doing, then we must be doing it wrong,” is logic that applies perfectly to immigration but not healthcare.
