I'll have you recall that prior to the Troubles that Irish whiskey ruled the world. The British strangled it off for the Empire after 1916, the US went to Prohibition in 1919, and the result was the rise of much inferior Scotch - with access to the Empire and smuggled into the US through Canada and British holdings in the Caribbean.

The ranks of whiskey are very clearly Irish > Bourbon > Rye > Tennessee > Scotch. I speak from years of research.
 
I like Irish whisky. It's much closer to scotch than any of the others you mentioned. I have a few years of research under my belt as well. Perhaps it was your insertion of the word "objectively" in your opening salvo that raised my eyebrow. I sense there is something on more of a cultural level going on here, not actual flavor, like with barbecue styles. I like em all. Barbecue styles, that is. Except the ones with sweet ketchupy sauce. Same with whisky. Except for pretty much any American made bourbon style whiskey. That's mostly just colored corn sqeezin's. At my age there are plenty of better things to squander my time on than that...
 
To keep this on topic (kinda) I procured a scotch made in India a couple years ago. Probably wouldn't buy it again, but it wasn't bad...

Oh I definitely think there's an actual flavor profile difference here. I'm not someone who thinks a glass of whiskey ought to emulate sitting in a peat bog inhaling a campfire.

I would like nothing more than to change your mind with a sampling of high quality Irish and bourbon whiskeys so that you would have been to appreciate what you've been missing all these years.

Scotch became prevalent in those countries precisely due to the historical impact of the Empire's grudge against Ireland. I myself have never had an Indian whiskey and I'm in no hurry to try.

Interesting to note that it's also why Scotch whiskey is so prominent in the Caribbean - I was pretty confused when I was in San Juan recently by how much Scotch you could find there.

Very interesting the after action reports showing the J-10C outperforming the F-16. Will be interesting to see if their salesmen can leverage this next week in Indonesia.

There are some surprisngly good whiskeys coming out of India these days... well maybe not coming out of India, but being produced and drunk there. Rampur is one you may be able to find and is quite good IMO. Indri and Amrut I've heard good things about, but have not gotten around to trying yet.

According to google AI, the Chinese J-10C is specifcally designed for air-to-air combat, while the F-16 is meant to be a more multi-purpose jet.

Not to mention, I don't think these were dogfights. It looks like the Indian (French-made) fighters were downed using long range air-to-air missiles, which is probably more of a credit to the missiles and the skill of the pilots than the Pakistani fighters. But I haven't seen the after action report, so I may be totally missing something here.

What business are you in, if you don't mind my asking? You seem to follow all this military stuff -- like all of it, if you're following arms sales in Indonesia.
