Maskirovka by Israel. Sabotaging Americans on nonessential missions to Israel to make them look inferior in the eyes of the world so they look better. Is Trump or cronies in on this? It would help with the defense budget. It would take a callous disregard for Americans, though.

Before we let the Israelis use us for a monkey's paw, I hope somebody stops and remembers just how many Israelis have died in our wars in the ME. Cause, let's be clear, there is nothing about a ground war in Iran that is worth it to us. If we go, it's for Israel's sake.

Therein lies the problem, though. This “regime change” is turning out to be anything but. If anything, it’s likely to be regime change for the worse.
 
How many American lives are you willing to bet at a thousand to one odds? Can you imagine a more counterproductive way to do this? I can't. Count me out completely.

I feel like I can speak for Democrats, and humans generally, in that we want nothing to do with him and wish him nothing but misfortune. We renounce his support.

To have any chance of that happening, we would have needed to have a closely coordinated strategy with liberal insurgent groups within Iran to take power from the theocratic government as soon as the bombs started hitting. We clearly had no such plan. Trump is now demanding that Iran surrender ... to whom? There is nobody in Iran other than the IRGC who is able and ready to assume power.

Calla retreats like the French at Dunkirk every single time he comes onto this board guns blazing and then Trump does something unfathomably stupid. It’s like clockwork.

I agree the odds aren't good that all of the best case scenarios work out. Even if the next Iranian regime decides to not be the epicenter of terrorism in the region and around the world, that would be a win.
