Yes, what it needed was a leader who could take up the reigns and continue forming and reshaping the deal. Not blowing it all up and then putting us in the situation we are in now.
Anyone who says we are in a better situation now with Iran than in 2016 is MAGA. Everyone else in the entire world disagrees.

lololololololol. There was more than 1 goal with iran. Regime change wasn't the only goal. There were several. Some of which have been achieved. Technically we did achieve regime change but I'm not arguing we accomplished thath. That isn't why i'm laughing at your comment though.

We didn't give iran unencumbered control of the strait. They have had informal control since the early 70's and have used that threat for decades. European control of the strait has been mostly symbolic.

Their program might exist in a notebook somewhere, but for the next 10 years we have effectively and practically eliminated their nuclear program. Their infrastructure and military facilities have been bombed to shit. Get back to me in 10 years though and you can make that argument then.

And lastly "Officials from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain have conveyed in private conversations that they do not want the military operation to end until there are significant changes in the Iranian leadership or there’s a dramatic shift in Iranian behavior, according to the officials, who were not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity." We aren't losing regional allies. They need us to do their dirty work. The middle east despises the iran regime.

I think the countries in the ME and the thousands dead from the billions obama handed to them might disagree. But that's just my opinion. Please cite your source proving everyone else in the entire world disagrees. You might have meant to say everyone on the zzl agrees and I would have believed that.

You could go look on the polls thread and see just how popular the war and Trump is with Americans. It’s MAGA and then everyone else.

He tanked it because it was trash. Would you be ok if in 2031 iran was allowed to freely develop nuclear bombs without any constraints? That's really what it comes down to. The same regime would likely still be in charge.

The leverage we had to get them to the table originally was still there to help force continued compliance and extend or amend the deal.
Then Trump ripped that up and now we are at war and the economy is tanking even faster than it was after his dumb tariffs.

Well, North Korea developed the bomb while we watched, and we didn't intervene. Is Iran developing a nuke our problem, or more like a Middle East issue (Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc.)? I think it's the latter. I'm tired of the US playing world policeman, aren't you?

Only when Dems are in power. Then they are sick of foreign wars even though they started most of them. Divided allegiances among oil companies, Israel and their bank accounts make it tough on the leadership.

The best Trump can do is the Obama Treaty. And now Iran can't trust the US and has no reason to negotiate.

Trump has as usual, made the US and the world less safe.

And more directly, if someone believes in the trinity god of christianity they also believe Jesus is Yahweh who killed people left right and center. If you're going to quote the 10 commandments then one has to include the rest of the OT where yahweh slaughtered entire people groups.
