It depends on what we see as the US strategy moving forward. If all we're going to do is lob missiles from far away, I would generally agree with you. If this requires actual US troops on the ground, we have plenty of recent experience (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc) that even a war against a country that has no real ability to "put up a fight" can be expensive and drawn out.Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I don't see attacking Iran as an expensive, drawn out war. Iran did a little more than nothing in retaliation against Israel. There's no reason to believe they would be able to put up any kind of fight against the US.
