It depends on what we see as the US strategy moving forward. If all we're going to do is lob missiles from far away, I would generally agree with you. If this requires actual US troops on the ground, we have plenty of recent experience (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc) that even a war against a country that has no real ability to "put up a fight" can be expensive and drawn out.
That’s the conundrum. Lobbing missiles probably means few American deaths, but will accomplish nothing. Accomplishing something would require troops on the ground, which would be an absolute disaster. I truly think Trump thought this could be another Venezuela (the results of which are still very much up for grabs). It can’t.
Unlike other conservative posters here Calla has made some thoughtful posts, seems to genuinely understand that Trump is a crook and a liar (although he accepts it as the price for not having a Democrat in office) and has seemed open to persuasion on a few topics. In some ways he reminded me of Krafty before he finally had his epiphany.
You’re talking about a poster who is convinced in his bones that immigrants kill rape and molest in significantly disproportionate numbers, and are the driver of the nation’s ills. Setting aside the way the country is built on the backs of immigrants, his misinformation on immigrant crime is staggering.

You know, before it was about Iran's nuclear weapons but its pretty clear to Iran's leadership that this time Trump is coming for them. So item #1 on the Ayatollah's to do list would be to make the price of oil go up. But to your point, maybe someone should check recent option trading on oil futures.
