The tone of the tweet suggests that Rupar thinks the "opposition" is wrong about what American voters care about, but I really don't think they are.

I was talking with a conservative-leaning but Trump-hating friend yesterday and mentioned the war. He said, "You want to know my thoughts on the war?" and pulled out a picture he took at the gas station showing the prices. I'm confident his is not an uncommon perspective.

People (especially, but certainly not exclusively, people who aren't highly educated) tend to inherently care most about what affects them. And for most Americans, gas prices affect them more than hundreds of dead children in a country they couldn't find on a map.
Diesel has gone up over $.50 a liter here in Nova Scotia this week, Regular about $.30.

That's about $1.39 a gallon in American dollars for diesel. It may not have hit US pump prices yet, but it's coming, and when it's diesel that means the price of EVERYTHING is about to shoot through the roof.

Our government is treating the suffering of the Iranian people as a backdrop for our own entertainment …. But, in the end, we lose our humanity when we are thrilled by the destructive power of our military. …. The longer we remain blind to the terrible consequences of war, the more we are risking the most precious gift God gave us: our humanity.

“I know that the American people are better than this.”

So it seems the debate between the Trump Administration and factions in Israel is whether to try to bomb Kharg Island flat and destroy the oil facility there or have US and Israeli troops seize and occupy the island …

I don't agree with that.

Trump set another record this week: largest one week % increase in barrel of oil since oil futures data startedin the 1980s. Over a 30% increase.
Now at WTI $90 a barrel. Qatari Energy Minister says $150 soon if war continues.
