Just not part of the groupthink that keeps this place alive......

Ppl still use this on boards full of ppl, that for the most part, use critical thought?

Interesting.

I also would have thought that low iq white supremacists, the anti anything black, and the let's extort the browns would be under a rock in 2026, but here we are.

Once again....interesting.

Iran and the U.S. were allies prior to 1979, period. Not even up for question. Trying to argue semantics about how far they would actually go for the U.S. is a deflection. Basically trying to backtrack without full on admitting you were wrong.

Look, I realize I'm up against a message board General here with tremendous confidence things will play out exactly as he predicts, namely that continuing this war in any respect will be an abject failure. I do not wish to venture a guess at the precise number of troops it would take to accomplish whatver end you have imagined that I implied. I will leave that to experts such as yourself. I realize that you think that anyone who thinks differently thatn you is an idiot. But I think as long as we're balls deep in the hand anyway we shouldn't fold on the river without at least trying to facilitate a revolution, particularly given that we have made things even worse at this point. Call it a difference of opinion. I realize different opinions here are often severely frowned upon, and often incite extreme overcompensation for various insecurities. I wasn't trying to trigger you, I promise.
I hope Trump continues the war because it will surely sink him in the midterms. I have no idea whether it will benefit the US strategically in the long run and I don't care. I want Trump to do whatever he can to hurt his political leverage for the last two years of his presidency.

Unfortunately, Trump has zero interest in your strategic objectives. His only objective is to maximize his political standing and power, which means that he will stop the bombing and declare victory in T minus a few weeks or less.

Pot/kettle. Accusing anyone with an opinion different from the groupthink of being a right wing nutjob is well, pretty tired. Definitely not interesting. But nice job there piling on. That makes you cool on the message board.

I can't argue with any of this.

It’s not about being cool on a message board. It’s about exhibiting a reasonable amount of critical thought.

I have no clue whether you’re a right-wing nutjob, but I can certainly say you’ve posted some dumb shit in this thread tgat lacks critical thought.

"Critical thought" on this board is immediately succumbing to the opinion of the kneejerk left and calling anyone who doesn't agree with it a right wing nutjob. Same as the old ZZL. Fortunately I have plenty of real life liberals to discuss things with who don't immediately react with "WTF" like Zoo did and proceed into some blatant overcompensating mancuntness.

Hundreds of posters on this board. I'm literally the first one outside of known MAGATs to post a different opinion on this subject. I guess everyone here except me is just perfect at "critical thought", even though it's all EXACTLY THE SAME.

I mean look, I agree with 90% of what is posted here. That's largely why I come here. And the boss is good with breaking news off X on important subjects. But this place isn't about "critical thought". It's a bunch of libs patting each other on the ass and validating each other.

How many troops will it take to occupy Iran? How many to nation-build?

1.5 million? 2 million? 3 million?
and the follow up questions:
How long?
How many dead?
How many wounded?

I think Iraq had ~4,500 and Afghanistan ~2,000 fatalities, albeit both were over fairly long time periods. Iran is a whole different animal from either IMO and would pose a far greater risk of substantial casualties.

If 47 puts US troops on the ground in Iran without a vote from Congress, he might actually get impeached and removed, along with whiskeypete and DJ Bowman.

1+1 = 2.

Do we need a differing opinion? There are some knowns and known unknown.

1) No mandate
2) No plan
3) Little to no transparency

Those are known about this war. i'm not sure how to agree with that, but arrive at "f it, lets have Americans die to finish it because the people suck"

It’s not any different than accusing everyone here of liberal groupthink if they happen to agree with what 74% of all Americans think - that they don’t want boots on the ground in Iran.

I mean we have to know where the majority of the IRGC's weapons and soldiers are, right? Regardless of whether we should have started this or not we might as well finish it now. To me, pulling out after they just annointed another extremist ruler who just lost his entire family seems like the stupidest thing we could do. Iran will continue to be a pain in the entire world's ass until the theocracy is decimated.
How many people on both sides are you willing to see die to cover up a mistake and how long are you willing to have this go on?

Second ship hit in Strait of Hormuz, crew evacuating - UK maritime agency

An unknown projectile has hit a second ship in the strategic Strait of Hormuz abutting Iran, causing a fire and forcing the crew to evacuate, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Wednesday.

It has been reported that a cargo vessel has been hit by an unknown projectile in the Straits of Hormuz which has resulted in a fire onboard.
The vessel has requested assistance and the crew are evacuating, the agency said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the agency reported another attack on a container ship 25 nautical miles (29 miles) northwest of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

The Master of a container vessel has reported that the vessel has sustained damage from a suspected but unknown projectile.
The extent of the damage was unknown but all crew members were safe, it said.
