Thanks for posting this. I have a hunch that Trump's desire to TACO out is complicated by Bibi. And for that matter, it complicates any desire Iran has. Lesson: be careful who you sleep with.
Trump is rapidly losing whatever control we had over this situation. With the Arab neighbors’ oil and gas facilities now being hit, the economic damage is about to cascade, and it won’t be able to be fixed quickly. I don’t think TACO is an option now. The world is absolutely fucked for a while regardless of what Trump does. Although he can definitely make it worse.

Think it's will and not can.

The maintenance issues may be the cause & origin of the fire. As for the time it took to extinguish, well a couple years back there was a fire on a small helicopter carrier/landing ship in San Diego harbor. It took 4 days to put it out despite it being docked in a major military port. So 30 hours might be big or it might be a smouldering fire.

Regardless, I am more likely to believe that than Iran hit the Ford in the Red Sea.
Yeah, that's crazy. Subsequent to my question I looked it up -- these ships can burn for a long time and catching on fire internally is more common than one might think. At least than I thought.

Right now - there are no good guys in this M.E. conflict. Each has violated human rights and/or their constitution.
Therefore, the most important question for us is - what are the American interests? How do we achieve that?

Trump, Bibi, Iran - not are trustworthy. We need (1) an exit ramp, (2) protection of the Strait of Hormuz, and (3) an arbitrator. In the past that would often be the US. The EU could be an arbitrator as it and NATO remain "neutral."

Today at Senate Intel committee, her written testimony (linked) said
“As a result of Operation Midnight Hammer,” Gabbard said in written testimony to the Senate intelligence committee, referencing the June 2025 US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, “Iran’s nuclear enrichment program was obliterated”.

“There have been no efforts since then to try to rebuild their enrichment capability,” Gabbard said in the written testimony.

So this means Trump misunderstood or didn't trust her Intel OR is lying about nukes as the reason for attacking.

Uh.... they're terrorists. They are the evil ones. They are the ones murdering tens of thousands of their own citizens. They're the ones helping to make October 7th happen. They're the ones who, if given the chance, would kill every Jew in Israel.
How do you know a damned thing about the person in the very phone conversation you quoted? For all you know he is a local cop doing his job to keep a roof over his family's head. The "terrorist" in the conversation would seem to me to be the one threatening death to that dude and his family.

“…The conditions listed by the group in a statement included Israel's halt of ‌displacing and striking residents of Beirut's southern suburbs and a commitment to not shelling residential areas in Baghdad and other provinces.”
