North Carolina:
  • Rate: 40.3 cents per gallon, effective January 1, 2025.
  • Previous Rate: 40.4 cents per gallon in 2024.
  • Total Tax (including fees): With the added $0.0025 inspection tax, the total state tax is 40.55 cents per gallon.
  • Calculation: The excise tax rate is adjusted annually based on a formula considering population change and the energy index change in the Consumer Price Index. However, a floor of 36.1 cents per gallon is in place.
  • Revenue Use: Gas tax revenue largely funds the NC Department of Transportation's Highway and Highway Trust Funds for road maintenance and construction.

  • South Carolina:
  • Rate: 28 cents per gallon, effective July 1, 2022.
  • Total Tax (including fees): The total fee is 28.75 cents per gallon, including a 0.75 cent per gallon environmental and inspection fee.
  • Increases: South Carolina's gas tax rate increased by 2 cents annually from 2017 to 2022.
  • Revenue Use: The revenue is primarily used for road improvements and repairs, with funds going to the Infrastructure Maintenance Trust Fund.

No, leaded gasoline is not available for use in on-road vehicles in the United States or most other countries. The U.S. fully phased out leaded gasoline for on-road vehicles as of January 1, 1996. While it was once a common additive to improve engine performance, leaded gasoline was banned due to its harmful effects on human health and the environment.
 
So, here's my Conspiracy Theory. Given Trump's tell, when he hesitated - will he? Won't he? Who knows? ...coupled with the lack of a radiation leak at the bombing sites. Remember, Iran has been providing drones and missiles for Putin to committ war on Ukraine. Putin bought Iran some delay to move the enriched uranium out on trucks. Once Putin gave the all clear signal to Trump, that's when Trump called Go! on the raid. Iran was completely passive, and later claimed they were caught off guard.

Now Iranian consulates are up meeting the Godfather...errrrr Putin. How the next step will be orchestrated, I'm unsure, but somehow the current Iranian government is protected. Just sayin'

That’s some conspiracy thinking for sure. But given all else around the Trump/Putin/BiBi/Ukraine/Iran/Whothefuckelseknows saga, it would not be surprising to me at all.

They don’t even have to really block it. All they have to do is cause instability and fear in the region. Posturing hostilities is enough. That alone will cause Lloyds of London enough headache that they either won’t be able to insure the shipping vessels or that the war premium will be high enough that oil prices 📈

In your estimation, who would someone with “a full brain” vote for? I’m not even being snarky, I’m genuinely curious in your perspective.
 
Not offering my own commentary- just presenting a very interesting thread. We should all hope he’s wrong because if he isn’t, Saturday’s strike was a strategic failure.
