IF Khameini is in fact dead, that’s a good thing.

IF this somehow leads to a regime change AND said regime change is more pro-West instead of more radical Islamic, that’s a good thing.

IF we are somehow able to do both of those things without shedding American blood, that’s a good thing.

I certainly support the crippling of a potential nuclear weapons program in Iran, and certainly support the ending of what has been one of the most brutal and longest standing authoritarian regimes in the world.

However,

It is completely unacceptable that the administration did not even attempt to make a case to the American people.

It is completely unacceptable that the administration did not even attempt to make a case to Congress.

It is completely unacceptable that Congress does not do its job to act as an to act as a check on the executive branch, ever.

It is completely unacceptable that the candidate who ran on ending forever wars, and not getting in the United States entangled into foreign conflicts, has become a warhawk.

It is completely unacceptable that yet again we are going to spend ungodly amounts of American money and potentially American lives on Israel’s behalf, fighting a conflict that is Israel’s alone.
He did notify parts of congress. No president makes a case to the American people before a strike. Did Clinton or Obama or Biden go before the American public and announce a strike before they green lighted it?

Not just a democrat. But the last democrat. There are a few democrats i can get behind. None that are the current faces of the party though.
And I’m sure a few years ago you couldn’t support the faces of the party and a few years before that you couldn’t support the faces of the party. It’s the same old story.

However you supported pubs and was a good small government conservative. Now that doesn’t matter to you and you will support Trump.

Well, shit, that’s weird, because Trump himself said it was about obliterating their nuclear program! SURELY you aren’t implying that the Commander in Chief is wrong?
Why wouldn’t it be both? More efficient that way. Mossad is scary good at what they do.

I don’t give a shit about what any other president did or didn’t do. I care what this one is doing. When he’s no longer here, I’ll care what the next one is doing. And so on and so forth. I care that this one in particular campaigned specifically on ending our foreign entanglements, ending forever wars, and not spelling American blood and treasure on foreign soil. Quite literally – and I mean absolutely, positively quite literally – the only thing that I have admired about Trump for the last decade up until this current term was his supposed stance on warhawks.

I’m sitting here typing this response from my home office where I can look over to my left and sitting on top of my bookcase is a triangularly folded American flag in a case. That flag set atop the casket of my then 19-year-old first cousin who is killed in Fallujah. I have it because my aunt and uncle – his parents – could not bear to have it in their house as a reminder. I am adamantly opposed to American politicians on either side of the aisle who keeps sending poor and working class and middle class boys like my cousin to continue to die on foreign soil, fighting foreign conflicts on behalf of other foreign nations and/or their billionaire donors. Guess what- I’ll adamantly oppose the next Democratic president who does it too, with the exact same ferocity.

But to answer your question, yes, George W. Bush made a formal case to Congress and a formal address to the American people before the initiation of the invasion of Iraq.
