Is Trump the Antichrist?

Do I believe that he's the Antichrist? No, but he certainly fits the description in many ways, and I think it's hilarious that conservative Christians who have spent generations warning their kids against being suckered by the Antichrist have fallen in love with a guy who is the opposite of Christ in almost every way and fits the term Antichrist perfectly. And they warn their kids against accepting the dreaded "Mark of the Beast" yet Trump is promoting his own global currency with his own personal brand on it. If the Rapture occurs it would be be ironic indeed if they were the ones who get "Left Behind" because they worshipped Donald J. Trump.

I don't know what the myths say. Can the Antichrist not touch a Bible? Can you start out not being the Antichrist but turn into the Antichrist some time in the last 8 years? Maybe some expert on classical antiquity folklore can fill us in.

Nothing about Revelation is classical antiquity. Large numbers of Christians don't recognize an Antichrist. Feel free do do like most modern Evangelicals and make some shit up.

I think you should look up when historians approximately date the classical antiquity period and compare that to when they believe Revelations was written.

The time might be right but neither the topic or style. Ambiguous prophecies by an unknown author who was probably neither Greek, Roman or influenced by them wouldn't seem to qualify.

Patmos, where it was supposedly written by John of Patmos, was Roman when the text was written. Patmos is a Greek island today and the book was written in Greek for a primarily Greco-Roman audience.

If I thought the antichrist was a person, I would definately assume it is him. However, I think "antichrist" is an adjetive. He is antichrist, not THE antichrist.

I never imagined how so many who claim my faith could follow something like him. Not just vote, but FOLLOW! Then make some stupid claim that he is a man of our faith, or worse yet, "God's chosen." Mind boggled.

Last I checked, scholars think John of Patmos was a diasporic Jewish Christian whose first language was Aramaic, which helps explain why his Greek is shit.
