according to the UN. Funny.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initially said on Sunday that its forces did not fire at civilians “while they were near or within the aid site.” An Israeli military source later acknowledged that troops had fired “warning shots” at suspects about 1 kilometer (1,093 yards) away.

During a press conference on Tuesday, IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said the military investigated and found its troops played no role in any mass casualty event. Defrin said: “This week, it was claimed that the IDF fired at civilians in an aid distribution area. This report is entirely false and echoes the propaganda of the terrorist organization Hamas… Regarding the incident on Sunday – it simply didn’t happen!”

again... the UN?

The UN is a joke, especially as it relates to Israel.

The CNN article doesn't show anything conclusive. Israel acknowledged firing warning shots 1000km away from an aid station. They acknowledge things they do because they aren't psychopathic, lying terrorists.

Regardless of the degree and time course of the current humanitarian crisis the optics from reporters associated with relief efforts have tilted the geopolitical scale, thus backfiring whatever objectives or thoughts Bibi and the Israel government had of occupying or controlling post-war Gaza.

The UK, Canada, France other NATO countries are recognizing Palestine. Bibi has gone from post-Iran strike hero to zero.

It's over for Bibi, Hamas, the current conflict. It's time to step aside.

Yes. What's sad is that it means, in the long-term, Hamas won. The yahoos here who accuse me of celebrating Hamas don't understand this. I think it's horrible that terrorism paid off for them. It will encourage more terrorism. If Israel had been brutal but stopped after three months, Hamas would have lost. IT would have been decimated; lots of Palestinians would have died needlessly; and then the status quo would be maintained.

But Hamas knew (or at least suspected) that Israel would go apeshit. And that it would, in the end, lead to international sympathy and a renewed visibility to the plight of the Palestinian people. That's what happened.

It's the same way that Osama Bin Laden actually accomplished his objectives. It's really a sad realization. What bin Laden wanted to do was to demonstrate that America's supposed liberal democracy was always a farce rooted primarily in the desire for conquest. And Bush didn't disappoint when he decided to invade Iraq. Ultimately, bin Laden thought that he would be able to cause America to be riven by internal conflicts and end up in some sort of fascist state -- not altogether that different than the House of Saud. Just more hypocritical.

He got what he wanted. This should be a painful realization, which is why most GOPers refuse even to consider it.
