StrawmanRemember, the Israelis are making sure they aren’t bombing or attacking or shooting at civilians….especially children.
The Israelis are doing SURGICAL strikes that only kill or wound Hamas.
"They say it calls for a 60-day pause in fighting, guarantees of serious negotiations leading to a long-term truce and assurances that Israel will not resume hostilities after the release of hostages, as it did in March. Israeli forces would pull back to the positions they held during the ceasefire Israel ended that month."Israel accepts a US proposal for a temporary Gaza ceasefire and Hamas gives a cool response

Israel accepts a US proposal for a temporary Gaza ceasefire and Hamas gives a cool response
The White House says Israel has accepted a new U.S. proposal for a temporary ceasefire with Hamas. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday said special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump submitted a ceasefire proposal that Israel has "backed and supported."apnews.com
“Israel has accepted a new U.S. proposal for a temporary ceasefire with Hamas, the White House said Thursday.
… Hamas officials gave the Israeli-approved draft a cool response, but said they wanted to study the proposal more closely before giving a formal answer.
… a Hamas official and an Egyptian official independently confirmed some of the details. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive talks.
They say it calls for a 60-day pause in fighting, guarantees of serious negotiations leading to a long-term truce and assurances that Israel will not resume hostilities after the release of hostages, as it did in March. Israeli forces would pull back to the positions they held during the ceasefire Israel ended that month.
Hamas would release 10 living hostages and a number of bodies during the 60-day pause in exchange for more than 1,100 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, including 100 serving long sentences after being convicted of deadly attacks.
Each day, hundreds of trucks carrying food and humanitarian aid would be allowed to enter Gaza, where experts say a nearly three-month Israeli blockade — slightly eased in recent days — has pushed the population to the brink of famine….”
I’ll take the bet. $5,000 vs. $50,000?"They say it calls for a 60-day pause in fighting, guarantees of serious negotiations leading to a long-term truce and assurances that Israel will not resume hostilities after the release of hostages, as it did in March. What a fucking joke. There is no long-term truce with Hamas. They're terrorists whose publicly states foalnis to eliminate Israel.
There was a cease fire on 10/6. Who broke it?
If the "long-term" truce is agreed to, who will break it? Gaza or Israel?
Anyone want to take that bet? I'll take Gaza/Hamas and give 10-1 odds.
Israel violated the last ceasefire hundreds of times before they pulled out. They always do that shit."They say it calls for a 60-day pause in fighting, guarantees of serious negotiations leading to a long-term truce and assurances that Israel will not resume hostilities after the release of hostages, as it did in March. It actually did rain missiles into Israel, thousands of them, launched from Gaza, all prior to 10/7. Israel is the only country in the world expected to sit by and do nothing while its neighbor launches thousands of missiles at civilians.Israel violated the last ceasefire hundreds of times before they pulled out. They always do that shit.
So, there was a ceasefire pre Oct 7, right? Then how did hundreds of Palestinians get killed prior to that in 2023? Was there some kind of weird weather event where it rained bullets?
IDF, not responding to an attack by Gaza, attacked and killed hundreds of Palestinians for no reason?Israel violated the last ceasefire hundreds of times before they pulled out. They always do that shit.

Link?
Oh the irony. The master of the qualified statement ("it seems to me that perhaps the prescence of X could possibly indicate that the idea I am floating here (but don't really believe myself) quite possibly might be feasible") is putting "can" under a microscope...Common factors "CAN" include, not "DO ALWAYS" include.
That's not uprovoked. That's clearly apart of the current war which was started by Hamas on October 7th, 2023.Israeli attacks kill dozens in Gaza, including 36 in school-turned-shelter

Lol Ha ha HaThat's not uprovoked. That's clearly apart of the current war which was started by Hamas on October 7th, 2023.
I'll also note that one of the civilians confirmed that Hamas is using the school to hide and store weapons in:
“We are nothing but defenceless peaceful civilians. We have nothing to do with the fighters and the weapons.”
How concerned is Hamas about civilian lives? Clearly not at all, which is why they hide their weapons and fighters in a fucking schools where innocent civilians are sheltering and, in the same day as this attack, continued to fire into Israel.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said three projectiles were fired from Gaza towards southern Israel. Two landed inside Gaza and one was intercepted by Israel’s missile defence system, it said. You should take your act on the road

Israel never “sits by and does nothing.” Give me a fucking break. It actually did rain missiles into Israel, thousands of them, launched from Gaza, all prior to 10/7. You think a starving population that is dodging bombs has the ability to do that when one of the world's strongest armies supposedly hasn't been able to do that in 20 months? Yeah, totally makes senseAt what point do Palestinians raise up and overthrow Hamas? There were periods of short protest but they sure didn’t last long.
I have no clue. I know it doesn’t work when you offer up negotiations and Hamas says “we aren’t sure.”You think a starving population that is dodging bombs has the ability to do that when one of the world's strongest armies supposedly hasn't been able to do that in 20 months? 1. I am actually far more informed about the realities of Muslim terrorists than you are. You see, when I first started teaching, I had a thought that maybe we might want to offer a course in sharia finance. It's an interesting field, because the Muslim world bankers have managed to construct a financial system on top of a biblical command that should prevent it: i.e. in sharia, it's illegal to charge interest on a loan. I don't know all that much about the details, but they get around the "interest on a loan" by styling the loan as a repurchase agreement. That's the very brief version but it's more complicated. You keep claiming I spout off about things I don't know about while you seem to be wholly uninformed about the realities of not only Muslim terrorists in general, but especially Hamas.
You believe, based on generic research, that it's ineffective, yet you likely know, without admitting it, that not regulating Gaza would resort in the death of significantly more Israelis.
Sure. What Israel should do is the "right* thing which would result in mass murder of its people.
I Never said there was. It's just interesting that you have all kinds of things to say, but can't muster even a thought when asked what Israel should do.
Very unlikely to happen because the majority support the total destruction of Israel. Even if things continue to get progressively worse in Gaza, I bet most people will blame Israel, not their own government who brought this on them.At what point do Palestinians raise up and overthrow Hamas? There were periods of short protest but they sure didn’t last long.
