I didn't see the interview, but you may have misunderstood him. He may have been expressing a hope that the Iranian people will revolt against the theocracy, which is I think a slight possibility.
 
Two thoughts on the evening's drama:

1) How much did Netanyahu contribute to Trump's presidential library fund?

2) Talk about 40-dimensional chess! Trump takes Iran off the battlefield in Ukraine to help his REAL friend, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, win against Russia.

Oh please get a clue. Iran has many cards to play. Starting with blocking the strait. And funny thing is, if anyone remembers 45 years back, all the 'death to America" chants from the Iranian people...........which will come back and reinforce the staying power of the Iranian Regime. Have a hunch the Ayatollahs are already giving thanks to Trump for saving them. It will be a miracle if this doesn't become a full blown mess.

When has Trump ever navigated a mess? COVID comes to mind.
 
From a purely political perspective, will last night turn out to be Trump’s Iraq invasion? His Afghanistan withdrawal? Or will he find a way to make American military intervention in the Middle East a political positive for the first time in history?
