Israel launches attack on Iran | US bombs Iran nuke sites

Ugh. Although might explain part of why Iran was so hot to trot on the ceasefire.

The US military strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months, according to an early US intelligence assessment that was described by three people briefed on it.

The assessment, which has not been previously reported, was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s intelligence arm. It is based on a battle damage assessment conducted by US Central Command in the aftermath of the US strikes, one of the sources said.

Of course they weren't. Some areas were off limits for inspection without a 24 day notice. Who the hell agrees to that and thinks that is a good deal? Only idiots that think any agreement is good. Lol at anyone who thought what obamer and kerry negotiated was an agreement that would accomplish anything but laughter from the iranians.
After the US ended the deal, how much notice had to be given prior to an inspection?

Fair, but that is a calculated risk that I'm fine with. Losing a handful of people in a terrorist attack would be horrible but it would pale in comparison to the prospect of losing a million people due to a nuclear detonation 10 years from now that we could easily have prevented.
I ask again. Easily? Intelligence now says we only delayed Iran by a few months. You still convinced it is easy to stop Iran’s program?

This was all pre-arranged with Putin pulling strings. Trump's tell let convoys of trucks remove fissile and centrifuge materials. Putin assured the Mullahs and current government would be supported as well as reconstitution of nuclear capability and even a bomb for hire. Trump and Bibi got the optics and a very weakened Iran. Iran, Saudis, UAE, Qatar, Iraq are able to export oil. China continued oil flow from Iran and Russian. Everyone gets a Win. Some but minimal causalties outside Iran's military and scientific leadership.

And another "exciting" episode of Trump TV 2.0: The Series.

Remember back when there was an agreement in place that limited Iran’s nuclear program and international inspectors were able to monitor Iran’s compliance?

There will never be peace in the ME as we think of it. But the world is safer today because of DJT and that doesn't mean anyone should like him. Just appreciate he acted when seemingly no others would.

Trump Started a fire. Trump called the fire department. Trump gets credit from MAGAts for putting out said fire. You gotta love it.

“… White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN in a statement:

“This alleged assessment is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community. The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump, and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program. Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”…”

NYT also has the report

“… The report also said much of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was moved before the strikes, which destroyed little of the nuclear material. Some of that may have been moved to secret nuclear sites maintained by Iran.

Some Israeli officials said they also believe that Iran has maintained small covert enrichment facilities that were built so the Iranian government could continue its nuclear program in the event of an attack on the larger facilities.

Officials cautioned that the five-page classified report is only an initial assessment, and others will follow as more information is collected and as Iran examines the three sites at Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. One official said that the reports people in the administration had been shown were “mixed” but that more assessments were yet to be done.…”

I don’t know if the fact that it wasn’t destroyed is massively devastating. If Iran holds to the ceasefire as does Israel and negotiation opens back up, it will be a good result. If Trump decides he needs to go after it again - that won’t be good.

If Iran's nuclear program survived the strikes in any significant way, it sets up a sort of interesting dynamic.

Either Trump admits he was wrong/inneffectual, or Iran develops a nuke. Not both.

Trump's rhetoric has removed the possibility of any further strikes.

Do prisons give prisoners notice before cell inspections? Defeats the entire purpose if you give the individual / country time to hide what they aren't supposed to have. A shitty deal isn't a good deal just because its a deal. Shitty deal is the same as no deal to anyone with any common sense.

You just can't keep the goalposts in place for even one day. Yesterday it was "Trump is awesome, he destroyed Iran's nuclear capabilities which was vitally important to the US citizens in Israel."

Now it's, eh no big deal.
