Israel launches attack on Iran

If this is true, Russia isn't doing shit on behalf of Iran.

Khamenei calls Trump's buddy, Putin, and says "Can you tell Trump to tell Israel to stop beating our ass?"

Putin: You guys better make a deal or your regime is gone.

Following the conversation, in which Trump likely made it clear that he would not restrain Israel, Putin sent a warning to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, stating that his regime is in danger. Putin informed Khamenei of the call's outcomes and advised him to move quickly toward negotiations. Additionally, Putin ordered the evacuation of Russian embassy personnel from Tehran.

I don't see the issue with that comment. He's not saying China is moral. He's saying China has credibility with both Iran and Israel, which is correct. We have credibility with Israel but not with Iran. Russia has credibility with Iran but not with Israel. China is the only superpower that has leverage with both. What's wrong with that observation?

I don't forsee them being our allies after all of this. I can see us helping make a mess of things, but I see very little chance we will help in the aftermath. The goal will be to blow stuff up in a country we haven't liked for half a century, that can be sold to the public. A strong Iran with friends in the West? Plenty of people won't like that so it's out.

I'm with TarSpiel and I believe we can still be very strong allies with Iran. We once were. It makes sense. They are our natural allies in the region. They have an ancient, complex, fascinating history and culture with incredible poetry, music and art. They have been duped. The Iranian peoples deserve so much better and I hope for great things down the road. A very young population and the youth by and large love the US.
 
Iraq was going to be a "beacon of democracy across the Middle East." What Iran could or should be is different from what I think Iran will be. Hating them is popular and any support for Iran would be easy to demagogue.

We're far more likely to try to cripple Iran than befriend it.

I don't know where the Fordow plant is, but it could be a foreshadowing of a taking it out which, considering how far underground it is, would likely cause some serious collateral damage

It is a half mile underground. You can't take it out with the (known) equipment Israel has.

How does America First = No Nukes for Iran?

America First in the 1930s meant let Germany run roughshod over Europe. Since when did America First mean global enforcer of non-proliferation. At some point, Trump needs to accept that his words have lost all meaning. I hate to say that Tucker has a better understanding of American First than Trump, but he does.
