A conservative telling liberals to grow intellectually is akin to a cockroach telling a math teacher how to do calculus.

Many of us have been around thousands of both, and the charitable and intellectual contributions of the two sides is far apart, just in the opposite direction you think.

According to google, only 10% of donations to the Catholic Church go to supporting other charities. Churches help themselves and their congregations first and foremost. Paying tithes to churches to avoid an imaginary hell is a little different than giving to the United Way.

Reference to this? There was one reference to violence by him or his disciples in the NT that I'm aware of. That was in the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus rebuked the disciple and healed the victim. There's also his quote about " Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's". I'm not getting any external revolution vibes from this. You seem to be confusing him with the Zealots that ended up later at Masada.

And what about the Unaffiliated? More folks in the US are registered Unaffiliated than either Republican or Democrat.

There is also the bit about the little old lady who gave all she had - even though it was a mere pittance compared to the rich guys throwing money at God. So it literally doesn't mean much at all in exactly HOW MUCH one donates to charity in terms of actual cash, now does it?

Republicans may donate LARGER SUMS over all, just like the rich dudes in the Bible... but what does that actually mean? Would Jesus like those dudes better? Is that what you're saying?

Also, this actually speaks to how dumb and gullible the registered Republicans are and have been over the years. Let's look at the PTL Club Jim and Tammy Bakker... All of those folks watching them on TV and donating those huge sums of money over the years... You reckon those individuals passing the loot (PTL) were or are now registered Republicans or Democrats?

Besides, WTF does this have to do with the OP and the fact that the New Testament and the Gospels spell it out unequivocally: Jesus' words and deeds - documented in the Gospels - lived his life in a very, overtly liberal and progressive manner. Especially looked at through the lens of today's definitions of "liberal" and "progressive". Jesus was downright "WOKE".

I candidly do not think this is super productive discussion to have. It is dangerous to try to project anything from 2000 years ago - especially anything religious - onto our modern political context. The world we live in today is so different from the world of the New Testament that making any sort of comparison - or trying to glean biblical messages relevant to a world that may as well be an alien planet compared to Jesus' world - is a fools' errand.

With that said, it is certainly true that Jesus embodied and preached about many things that would get labeled "social justice" today by those who oppose such things.

No, but I'd say that our documentation ability, during Einstein's life, was significantly improved over Jesus' time. It's also safe to say that Einstein actually wrote a lot that is attributed to him. To my knowledge, Jesus wrote nothing. Finally, at least some of the people who wrote about Einstein probably actually met him.
