Joe Biden Was NOT running the country

If the Republicans were truly worried about the president being of sound mind, they would be working to move on from Trump. But this is just ask talk for then since they can point at Biden.

We need some new rules for who can run for president. Age being a concern. Also no one with a felony conviction or 34, should be able to run.

I actually think that wouldn't have been a horrible idea. Someone could have come to her and say Joe is not going to make it through another campaign. Let's put you in a primary where you are basically the incumbent, and go for it. That preserves Joe's legacy and we have a primary process to see if she (and Kamala) can stand up to Trump.

She's not a politician but she has been a politician's wife for decades. It might have worked.

Your age catches up to you sooner or later. It didn't with Nancy Pelosi. Biden was still pretty sharp early last year for the State of the Union. He handed it to the Republicans.

The way things work, hamstrings a First Term President. He has to run or his first term comes to an end the minute its announced and then nothing else gets done. Not fair to his supporters if that causes his one and only term to fall short of accomplishments. It's not guaranteed that his Party will win the next election. It sucks.

You know, when Republicans come out with this complaint, I have to think the same thing could have been said about Trump back in 2020. He looked and acted like road kill back then. Not to mention his chaos back then and now makes you wonder if he can really drive the office.

Maybe. Hillary Clinton probably had a better resume than Kamala and got beat. Al Gore had a decent resume that was probably better than Harris and got beat. George HW Bush probably had the best resume of all and got beat. I don't think any of them were very good politicians.

Kerry had a very good resume and was a pretty good politician but got beat. McCain had a lot better resume than some one term senator from Illinois and was a very good politician and got beat decisively. Oftentimes the resume doesn't make that much of a difference and sometimes it's just not your party's year.

Would Jill Biden have been better than Harris? Who knows. But I don't think Harris's resume would have made that much of a difference. A primary might have told us quite a bit.

They are not out of context. Look at the recent interview where he wanted to argue that a clearly photoshopped picture wasn't fake.

Jill Biden certainly wouldn't have been my first choice but my point is someone could have gone to her when there was still time to run a primary and said Joe isn't fit for a second term and your best bet to stay in power is to run as the incumbent's wife.
 
John Kerry was a junior senator when he won the nomination.

He had negative charisma and was awkward as hell…..he was not a good candidate for POTUS.

Democrats stupidly thought his Vietnam War experience mattered and would elevate him above Dubya.
 
Poor John Kerry. He had 20 years of experience as a Senator and won four elections when he won the nomination for President, but to some people he'll always be the junior senator from Massachusetts.

The Dems went for Republicans’ bait in that one. When Gore was running for president, before he picked his running mate, many Pubs said they feared Kerry the most as a potential running mate. So Dems bit in the next election and put Kerry up there.

One of Kerry’s problems was that he was incredibly timid and overly cautious. He was frightened to say anything that could be deemed as bold and was scared to come out of his shell.

Also, to this day… or at least as of very recently… Dems have made the error of assuming that a Dem candidate’s military service will matter to voters.
