June 14 Military Parade — DC

No. I’ve never implied that I did.
If you never served, then why do you believe your speculations on what makes others serve have any credibility Especially at a time when the Army has stopped its recruitment efforts because it met its goals so early in the fiscal year. And that these improvements in recruiting were due to programs the Army implemented during the Biden administration.

Correct , there were none. I grew up in the 1970s and no one threw parades for our soldiers in those days. I’m thrilled the times have changed.
Trump's parade is for himself. Not the Army and the generals that Pvt. Bonespurs believes, and has stated, are suckers & losers.

When I was a kid, we had massive parades. On July 4. And veterans (VFW, etc.) often participated.

Other than a color guard I have no memory of military marching in the parades that I attended growing up. Marching bands for sure - beauty queens too - and politicians. Oh yeah and people on horseback.

I guess it did work - While I wasn’t in the band, and never became a beauty queen or a politician, I did very much like to ride my horse.

Absolute, total, and complete BS! I was actually in the Army in the 1970's. That you personally never participated or noticed events held for/by soldiers doesn't mean they didn't happen. It just means you weren't paying attention. Because I was on the taller side, I was always one of the guys in the flag detail. Trust me, I could have done with a fewer parades and appearances. I would have to break starch if in fatigues or have to wear dress greens that would have to dry cleaned/pressed after wearing. That was discretionary money out of my pocket.

In a Constitutional Democratic Republic with a volunteer military exactly why do you think there should be parades for the military?

Well Sarge, Y’all weren’t coming to our podunk #DeepChathsm parades in the 1960s.

You are absolutely correct. The Army pretty drew a hard line in not flying me from Germany back to the US to participate in parades. I would definitely been up for it. Especially given that when flying commercially, soldiers travelling under orders went first class.

Raleigh has canceled their Juneteenth celebration for tomorrow and Triangle Town Center is closing tomorrow. I guess it's because they are worried about protests.

Can we stop using the word, "pussy" every time Trump's name comes up? I get it--he's a soft, weak, impotent excuse for a man, but maybe let's avoid referring to him by the name of female genitalia every time we discuss how weak he is. I'm a very big fan of female body parts, and I really don't want to have the image of Trump pop up in my head in the future on the exceedingly rare occasion I come in contact with said genitalia.

Thanks.
