Gastonia still has Jackson's Cafeteria, so I have somewhere to go when I need cafeteria-style dining.

I feel fortunate and invite any of you to join me, if/when you're in the area.

Ryan's was my favorite of all the buffet steakhouses back in the day. Quincy's and Golden Corral seemed like they had the name recognition, but Ryan's was where it was at.

Coincidentally, I'm pretty sure all of the places I've mentioned here had an Independence Blvd. location in Charlotte. So did K&W, actually.

My family did Ryan's when I was in college and a few years after when one opened near us.

It was pretty good until near the end when they tried cutting costs and the quality went bad.

When we’re in Gastonia we go to Tony’s. Love the milkshakes.

Does anyone remember Morrison's cafeteria? I remember there being one inside I think a Belks department store in Charlotte - maybe at Eastland Mall?

It was in SouthPark. I remember going there as a kid. I fucking hated it.
