I can logically reconcile with the notion of people rationalizing their way into supporting the turd over one issue or another, while holding their nose.

But the thought of ever having been fooled by that clown-show excuse for a human just will not compute. Those people expose themselves as completely unintelligent and gullible, and/or desperately willing and wanting to be fooled, probably for sketchy self-serving reasons.
