March Madness - And then there were Two

Cadeau’s mom is toxic?
He wanted $2mil?
I followed her on social media -- as I wrote she was very involved on both X and Instagram -- not so much with basketball in a critical way but she was/is very left-of-center. I appreciated a lot of what she had to say but it was pretty evident that there was a Mama Bear quality about her.

Carolina probably should have done more to keep Cadeau, but maybe he just didn't like playing for Hubert.
Even though Hubert let him start every single game and play all the minutes he wanted and also let him shoot as often as he wanted. Green light all the way. Perhaps Cadeau didn’t like the fact that Hubert made them run suicides if they cussed in practice… think that was it?

You still watch?

When Duke is out I'm done. Move on and ignore it. I'll check scores but nah no interest
Of course, I watch.

I’m a Tar Heel fan, first-and-foremost.

Then, I’m a huge college sports fan. I’m watching the Final Four, regardless of the four teams.

I find it more enjoyable when d00k loses.

I watch the college football play-offs.

I understand that many/most Duke basketball “fans” are NOT college sports fans. They watch d00k basketball (see Ken Jeong).

To them, the Final Four without d00k is a non-event.

He probably felt disappointed in what he’d personally accomplished, coming out of high school as such a highly touted recruit. I think we’ve seen Michigan that he is what we saw at UNC. I wish he had decided to stay. Would have loved to watch him throwing lobs to Caleb. But he’s getting a really nice payday and a chance to win a title. Hard to criticize him for that. You can ignore CF’s meaninglessly blaming HD.

I don't know what the reason was, but clearly the vibes were bad with Cadeau and both sides were ready to move on. Part of it was probably that we could never quite get the right roster construction around Cadeau; ironically he probably would have thrived playing with Veesaar and Wilson, just like he did with Michigan's dominant frontcourt.

Maybe he didn't like his coaching style. He was also offered more money from Michigan. Just felt like Carolina didn't really care to keep him that bad.
