March Madness - Wolverines new champs

But we needed a PG distributor, not a SG. We could have gotten another SG in the portal. One that could actually shoot.
We could have gotten another PG in the portal too. No reason to think we would have done better with SGs than PGs.

Put it this way. After last year, if it was up to you to choose which player to keep for next season, would you really have chosen EC over Seth? It was at best a tossup. People forget how much of an issue EC's defense really was. If the choice was, "we already have Mara, now who" then yeah, EC would be the pick. But we didn't have a Mara.

In truth, I think this is mostly a distraction. U of M was a better team this year by a considerable amount. Their coach put together a fantastic team and the team had great chemistry. HD has, for whatever reason, been unable to field a team with great chemistry. I suspect Caleb was a chemistry killer, as evidenced by our best chemistry the year after he left. But it's not as if we had great chemistry without him. I've long wondered whether Seth was good for chemistry or not. I'm pretty sure EC was bad for our chemistry.

I would have picked Elliot knowing the front court we had coming in (Veesar was all but locked up). But I think the issues with Elliot, Michelle and Hubert ran much deeper than his shooting ability.

Yes, I think there were lots of things going on behind the scenes. I think Elliot needed to mature, and I think getting let go probably helped in that process a lot. There were serious questions about his work ethic, if I recall. Maybe that was a friction with the HC thing.

Whatever, it's done now. Fate feels cruel. EC getting MOP seems almost a cosmic conspiracy to rub more in the noses of UNC fans.

I just wish Duke had been healthy in March and April.

I am sure everyone here, does, because you want to see all members of the board happy. :)
