I'd conjecture that possibility crossed their mind and they could have limited it. What do you think? Were they so stupid they overlooked the possibility of abuse or thought that this should be a broad principle broadly applied?
I'm not going to pretend to know what the FFs were considering at the time.

I'm really worried about Zen. Stroke? Dementia? His trolling used to be 8 out of 10. He's dropped precipitously to 2, maybe 3 at best.
Really? You think it's THAT unreasonable to say that some of the uses of BRC appear to be clear abuses of the original intention?

You guys are just a tad dogmatic, IMO.

And you're trying to have it both ways. You claim there are clear abuses of original intent and then when challenged this is your response. Can you say a mental and moral midget.

Of course not! It's not like the country needed cheap labor, after the Civil War, to build things like transcontinental railroads.
I’m also really glad the Union wasn’t distracted by immigration when filling out the ranks of the army that preserved our republic.

They must have been blind. Look at what they allowed to happen.

In 1860, about 13% of the U.S. population was born overseas—roughly what it is today. One in every four members of the Union armed forces was an immigrant, some 543,000 of the more than 2 million Union soldiers by recent estimates. Another 18% had at least one foreign-born parent.

Had to revive this post. So, I was wrong. I was wrong for thinking Trump would go to the prisons first then go after homeless illegals. I admit I was wrong but I am glad I was wrong. They are going after the violent criminals that should be in jail but are not due to whatever dumb reason the courts could come up with. Especially sanctuary cities...Boston, Chicago, Denver, etc, were hit the quickest. Check this guy out.

Can anyone explain to me why what ICE doing this is bad?

Nobody here is going to argue against arresting violent immigrants and sending them back to their country of origin once they have completed their sentence.

Every administration has done that.

The problem is Trump and MAGA make it out like every immigrant is like this, when they only make up a small fraction of the crimes committed here. It's playing on irrational fear and racism.

Because they didn't want to vote for a woman. And because they are idiots that for some reason thought Trump would be better for them.
yeah and while they aren't a monolith they definitely lean socially conservative / patriarchal / religious.

still kind of shocking to me that those factors won the day with so many over the constant, overt racism, though.
