But at least they can feel safe about being exposed to trans people and now eggs and groceries will come down (er, well, maybe not anymore...it's hard to get prices down after they're up, you know?).

Sky is a radicalized POS. FAFO is coming for his family and the least deserving will be the ones who suffer most.

At the very least, Jaime needs to get out of the shithole that is Rome, GA.

A departed friend told me that maybe 25 years ago Rome went the route of "Lets make this a cute artsy town". It started to work-economic growth etc. then the "founding families" decided the new folks bringing growth were not bible thumping heterosexuals...So they shut it down
 
So if we let a small family from Guatemala stay with us in our house, essentially letting them “hide out” here… would we be shot and killed like the French farmer in the beginning of the 2009 movie “Inglorious Basterds”?

If you're worried about getting deported probably best not to publish your immigration status in a free article in the New York Times.

I’m assuming the creation of a sympathetic public profile is the strategy to decrease the chance of deportation. Not sure I agree in this case, but history is rife with examples of the nameless and faceless summarily and disproportionately facing cruelty. Jaime is no longer nameless and faceless.

This admin is going to enact cruelty upon Americans, in manners unprecedented in modern times, that said, ttump is also obsessed with his public perception. If a sympathetic DACA recipient, in a HEAVILY maga territory, in a family with a maga father-figure, gets targeted, there’s real risk to ttump. I don’t think the risk is particularly high, but ttump is as vain, venal, and capricious as they get; I don’t think Jaime’s gambit is irrational.
