Out of ZZL jail.

The locals dissing the Feds puts a tremendous amount of pressure for them to find and charge the suspect as soon as possible - and get it right this time. If you don't want Big Brother to help you you best get the job done yourself! What I don't understand is why they won't release to the public the words the suspect shouted at the time he was firing his weapon. When pressed at the press conference yesterday, the chief only said that the matter is still under investigation. What? They likely interviewed the witnesses hours after the event and should now have a good understanding of what he said. Anything that allows the public at large to assist in the manhunt would be helpful in solving this case.

I want to just add something to this topic thread even though probably very few on this board don't know the following. I think it should be in any thread about guns.

We must state clearly that the Republican politicians who have fought against even basic gun control are the essential root cause of all of the ongoing, senseless gun deaths in America because of their long-standing collusion with gun manufacturers, the NRA. Too many Democrats have been involved too, but they have not been in any way the drivers of the problem. There is no other possible way to state the reality.

Some Americans have been given a delusion that guns can protect them if a fascist government (ironically, like Trump's would be) gets into office. This is the supreme fantasy of the uneducated. The government would just cut off all supplies of water and all deliveries to fast food restaurants, and all the middle-aged white males who've horded guns and ammo, along with all the Neo Nazis, Proud Boys, and KKK members, would surrender in a week. The B2 bombers would not be needed, and not even a few attack drones.

Americans (a subset) own a just a whole bunch of guns because they were told lies and made paranoid over decades, and wasted a huge amount of money in the process hording guns. They, just like all of us suffer with a society where easy access to guns--including weapons of war designed to tear bodies to pieces--mean outrageously unnecessary suffering and death. Watch this and share it:

Perfectly said. I would love to know how many people have used a gun to shoot others or for suicide versus how many people have actually used a gun for self defense.

Has Kash finished his media blitz to talk about his girlfriend so he can focus on this?

The authorities said on Tuesday that they had opened a homicide investigation after a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was fatally shot at his home in Brookline, Mass.

The professor, Nuno F.G. Loureiro, 47, was a member of the departments of nuclear science and engineering and physics, as well as the director of M.I.T.’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center, the school said.

If the police know what the suspect shouted they should let the public know unless there is a conspiracy to keep it a secret for a good reason.

From the video of a suspect who is a fat white guy, I'm guessing that suspect was probably not shouting " al-Akbar ! "

What was the longest period of time a school mass shooter was on the loose prior to Kash & Dan taking over at the Bureau? Seems like this has to be a record.

I’ll check but it will help my search if you know the answer:

When was the last time we had a school shooting and the suspect was on the loose and the FBI director spent that evening on a podcast so he could talk about his girlfriend?

One of the two shot (edit) and killed, and shot in the face apparently, was a Ella Cook:

.....Cook, a Brown student and a parishioner at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, was named as one of those killed.

....."She was engaged and involved in our worship and in our community, and as she served here at the church and in the wider community, in all sincerity, just a tremendous and bright light in there at Brown University as well, in the time that she was there, was such a light and such a witness," Smalley added.

Brown is a very liberal/progressive University. Coincidence?

One of the 10 shot. Don’t know if it was a coincidence.

I very much doubt that the words he said will be helpful to anyone. It is very likely to be more inflammatory than anything. It's also no surprise that you're discounting the possibility that there were conflicting witness reports, which makes it quite difficult to release the words.

What's the longest amount of time it has taken to catch someone who has carried out one of these random mass shootings? Usually they are caught pretty quickly.

How do we know he’s is a white guy? Has an eyewitness testified as such? The TA said he looked the shooter in the eyes. Why hasn’t a description been released?

I realize Taco is just here to shitpost per usual so I won't quote him, but the other student shot and killed at Brown was a young man named Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan.
