Drugs are also illegal in countries where there is very little to no gun violence.
Cool. That would be relevant for a discussion about gun control in, say, Lithuania. I think we are discussing the United States right now, though.

Outlawing guns does nothing to stop criminals from having guns.
If someone believes that, why even have a discussion with them?

Are you aware that many drugs have been outlawed for the last half-century? Are you aware that people still have next to zero difficulty obtaining those drugs after fifty years of enforcement?

You already said you are fine with law-abiding citizens getting shot, remember?
I didn't say I was fine with that. I said that is reality. What you are proposing is your own idealized reality, but it is not the one that we live in. We have to accept reality. We are under no obligation to accept delusions.

You know...we talk a good deal about the long-term effects on the current college-age generation from having spent some very formative years enveloped by the pandemic.

I suspect that for a great many of them that the very real threat of being shot while attending school (for every actual shooting how many false alarm lockdowns have happened anyway) is at least as salient of a negative life-long impression.

Guys, the best solution is to enforce the current gun laws.
Also, we can’t change the law because laws don’t make a difference.
Guys, so glad we got rid of drugs by outlawing them 50 years ago. That was easy! No one has overdosed and died since the 80s.

bet big money shooter was on at least one of the many toxic 'mental' health drugs that our society is prescribed by so-called mental health experts. we are a pill popping freak society that has zero coping skills and zero perspective about what life really is. flight or fight lmmfao people believe that garbage bc someone bought a degree and its hangin on a wall.

Exactly. You argue that all we need to do is enforce gun laws, then in the next breath proclaim that laws make no difference. That was my point.

you’re an idiot

Once again, TruthHurts tries to write something profound, but ends up bringing absolutely nothing to the table, other than his own, miserable, inflated ego.

Enforcing existing gun laws will help drop that number down without any new legislation needed. However, the problem is here to stay. That’s the reality I’m referring to.
