Hadn't thought about that movie in a long time. I suspect it's underrated, but would need to watch it again to see if it still holds up.

But Trump campaigned on being a fascist, so it’s okay.
 
Watching Trump's jackbooted brown shirts raid that apartment complex made me sick to my stomach. They were not there to round up violent illegal immigrants. They were there to demonize and intimidate a specific group and show the bigoted MAGA/GQP that Trump is focused on carrying out their number one priority....terrorizing people of color much like the KKK.

This is all a consequence of the SCOTUS immunity ruling. Trump feels emboldened to do whatever he wants. He is living out the Hitler fantasies he has had since a child.

It is only going to get worse.
 


But local officials suggest that Noem was pulling a switcheroo to avoid the mayor and local police chief who demanded a meeting with Noem about ICE actions in their town:

“… In a statement, village spokesperson David Ormsby said Noem appeared "unannounced" at the Village Hall "asking for a meeting while Mayor Katrina Thompson was out of the building." Thompson, Ormsby said, was instead on her way to meet Noem at the ICE facility.

"Mayor Thompson went to the ICE center, accompanied by the Broadview Police Chief Thomas, and officers, to ask for the illegal fence to be dismantled. The mayor was told by agents at the gate the secretary was unavailable to meet," Ormsby said. "Additionally, we are distressed to hear that the bathrooms are unavailable at the ICE facility.”

The footage was posted just hours after Noem was seen at the Broadview ICE processing facility, along with Border Control Commander Greg Bovino….”
