I have not seen Calla's critique regarding Kirk's hate speech which has inspired tens of thousands of young white males to hate the other.

If he has, then good for him and I hope he will follow up with a critique of Fox News for platforming Kirk' s hate speech .

Meantime I'm hoping he will come here and condemn Killmeade's solution to the mentally ill and homeless crisis. During that interview even the guest only advocated throwing the homeless and mentally ill in jail.

So my question to Calla is, should Kilmeade be fired today, and should the Fox network issue a public apology for that disturbing interview and the tacit approval of Kilmeade's co-hosts ?

I hope he will weigh in on this thread...but I'm not holding my breath.

ETA : I see you are engaged with Calla and other board members on another thread about what Dems need to do to save our country. I like this engagement because it is civil and a rational discussion/debate between liberals and conservatives. We need more of that.
So I'm guessing he may not have time to visit this thread.
So, what's y'alls position on Jay Jones' comments about putting two bullets in the speaker's head and wishing death on his children (since they were little fascists) so that he would feel pain? That seems worse than Kilmeade's "joke." I haven't seen anyone calling for Jones to withdraw from the attorney general's race in Virginia. Or, what about Graham Platner's SS Death Head Totenkopf tattoo? Is that cool? Y'all seemed really upset with Elon's "Nazi salute" and Hegseth's Crusader cross tattoo as a potential White Supremacy tattoo?

Just need to make sure we're being consistent here.

You are just on the wrong thread for those discussions.

I do think your call for consistency is more than reasonable...

1 ) Regarding the Jay Jones deplorable comments, he has been condemned by Democrats for those tweets and he has apologized profusely. That does not excuse his horrible tweets, but to compare that to GQPers wanting to give Charlie Kirk a statue and Medal of Freedom ?

2 ) Did you watch Kilmeade's tone and facial expression ? He was not joking and his apology days later looked like a hostage apology/confession

3 ) I think we were more upset with Elon's elimination of jobs crucial to delivering services to the American people and less concerned about his stupid Nazi salute

4 ) I think Plattner covered that tattoo. Has Hegseth covered his ?

Why in the world would Hegseth need to cover his tattoo? It depicts a Christian cross with 4 small crosses - a Crusader cross - that is displayed in churches all over the world. Plattner's tattoo is entirely different but I'm for giving it a pass since it's possible he, as a young Marine, didn't understand the full meaning of his tattoo.

I'm actually for letting a lot of this speech go and letting the voters and viewers decide the "punishment" for the controversial speech. But I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I'm thoroughly enjoying speech coming back to bite liberals after leading us through the era of cancel culture and speech suppression on social media.

And lying is bad, right?

Funny thing is despite all the "controversy" he held a town hall Wednesday night in a town with a population of 1600 and the hall was full with 600 attendees. Apparently, Mainers are ok with a candidate who can apologize and renounce what he said over a decade ago.

The board of a conservative magazine at Harvard known for its muckraking suspended the publication on Sunday, citing the printing of “reprehensible, abusive and demeaning material.”

The magazine, The Harvard Salient, which was founded during the Reagan era and revived four years ago after a decade-long absence, is editorially and financially independent from the university.

The statement from the board, which is made up of conservative alumni, did not provide any detail about what incident prompted the review, but the publication had recently been embroiled in a controversy over an article that included a line similar to one in a Hitler speech.

The article, written by David F.X. Army, a Harvard student, in the magazine’s September edition, included the line, “Germany belongs to the Germans, France to the French, Britain to the British, America to the Americans.” The article argued that Europe’s native populations were being displaced by migration from Africa and Asia.

In a January 1939 speech that Hitler delivered to the Reichstag, in which he predicted that another world war would lead to the annihilation of Jews in Europe, he said, “France to the French, England to the English, America to the Americans, and Germany to the Germans.”

In a separate article in The Harvard Salient, Richard Y. Rodgers, the magazine’s editor, said the similarity to the Hitler line was not intentional. He wrote that “neither the author nor the editors had recognized the resemblance and that the phrase long predates the Third Reich.”

The Salient article by Mr. Army also argued for values rooted in “blood, soil, language, and love of one’s own.”

“Blood and soil” was a nationalist phrase used extensively by the Nazis.

These people disgust me.

I'm assuming that @ZenMode gave this a thumbs down as his disapproval of the use of the word retard and not just the complete stupidity of the whole thing. Can never really tell with him for sure but either way.

Guess what... this is just a small glimpse of what their idea of wokeness ending looks like to them and millions upon millions of other pieces of shit just like them.

You and your ilk supported this . You and your ilk cheered this on. You and your ilk voted for this. You and your ilk should own it.

So congrats on making the world we live in a worse place.

Doesn't matter party, this is unnecessary and uncalled for.

Jay Jones should drop out of the race, that's over the top.

This article states that Platner removed and apologized about the tattoo. If he went to the point of removing it, then maybe the apology is real, though his political director states otherwise. But if the political director knew about it and felt that he knew what it meant, why just now resign? Why not advise him to remove it long ago. Either way, I wouldn't vote for him.

I don't recall hedseth even acknowledging that people have concerns.

What puzzles me with this post is, do you actually believe we are going to be hypocrites and support a guy that made a statement about killing people? My core beliefs are my beliefs they don't have anything to do with politics or party and I'm not changing them.

I read about conservatives all the time that claim to have all the core beliefs around their faith and family, yet they put all that aside to vote for trump who clearly doesn't live up to them. THAT is a hypocrite.

1) I don't see the comparison here.
2) yes Kilmeade's apology was forced, he doesn't care about any homeless person, that's clear.
3) Completely agree.
4) Heg doesn't give a fuck, he's to busy with his reality TV stunts with generals and F. A. F. O. jokes while looking at the camera. He's third rate weekend fox propaganda host, he's pretty worthless overall.

It's an awful comment and I sure as hell wouldn't vote for Jay Jones.

I like how you pretend that cancel culture is only a liberal trait.

I'm sure bud light agrees with you and all the people who lost jobs for voicing an opinion against the great charliee kirk. And I'm not talking about those celebrating his death, I disagree with that, I'm talking about those that point out he wasn't a good person and his rhetoric was problematic.

Zen is probably thumbs down to you for calling his hero's disgusting.

Might as well go back to country clubs excluding Jews, segregation, McCarthyism and the Hollywood Blacklist and so on and so on.
