I'll rephrase from MAGA's perspective.

1. Condition continued federal support of universities with eradication antisemitism on campus (including teachings), guarantees of free speech on campus (no "hate speech" codes) and ending discrimination in admissions. Reasonable taxation of endowments unless endowments used to reduce tuition costs for students.
2. Skill-based consideration for legal immigration.
3. Continued efforts to have NATO members increase defense spending to at least 2% of their GDP (only 23 out of 31 are in compliance).
4. Replace woke political generals with fighting generals.

Doesn't sound so bad to me.
Right. That’s because you want us to look like Hungary. We’re all aware of that already.

“Amazon is paying an astonishing $40million to license Brett Ratner's documentary about Melania Trump, according to a new report.

The documentary, directed by Ratner, was announced Sunday, and is set for release in the second half of 2025 during her husband's administration.

Melania, 54, is the production's executive producer, and Jeff Bezos's film and television studio is reportedly shelling out the big bucks for licensing rights.

… the deal also includes a follow-up docuseries.

It's unclear what Melania is being paid personally for the project.

The film and docuseries will appear on Prime Video, with the film getting some time in theaters as well, the insiders said.

The docuseries will reportedly include two or three episodes, with Melania heavily involved. The documentary began filming last month and will continue during Trump's presidency.

Disney and Paramount reportedly lost out on the streaming rights after a bidding war with Amazon, which is owned by the second-richest man in the world. Neither Netflix nor Apple took part, the sources said.“

Post-truth world expands

I mean, it is consistent with his vision of populating social media with AI posters and inviting youth to reside in an online metaverse instead of the real world.

Eradication of antisemitism and removal of hate speech codes all in one bulletin point.

Only 23 out of 31? That's 75%. I wonder how close to the 2% the other 8 are? I'm guessing pretty close...

And how much progress does that represent in the last few years?

ETA: Seems like MAGA wants to claim credit for something that's already mostly fixed.

"I welcome what [NATO] Secretary General Stoltenberg yesterday called an 'unprecedented rise' in defense spending across our European and Canadian allies, who have added more than $600 billion for defense since the Defense Investment Pledge was made in 2014, including a real increase of 11% in defense spending in 2023 alone," Austin said in today's statement. "The secretary general projects that in 2024, 18 allies will spend at least 2% of their GDP on defense — a major improvement over 2014, when only three hit that target. Any ally not spending at least 2% of GDP on defense this year should have plans to swiftly meet that target."

Austin said he was pleased by the progress the U.S. and allies made at today's meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels and underscored the importance of the alliance to U.S.

Trump's "threats" to NATO countries caused them to increase defense spending. In 2017 only 12 NATO allies met the NATO guideline to spend at least 2% of GDP on defense. Today it's 23.

See the edit to my above post. That's pure bullshit. It started before Trump and his threats had little or nothing to do with anything.

Caused? Most of the increase happened during Biden’s term and I’d confidently guess that Russia’s actions were the biggest catalyst.
Lag time between a country's intent to meet guideline (under Trump) and actual compliance (under Biden). No doubt Russia's invasion helped speed things up as well.

What the fuck is a fighting general? JFC just let it all burn already. Fucking MAGA cancer.
I know a lot of people have Ramrouser blocked, but I'm taking the heelinhell position on him. It's valuable at some level to see what true died-in-the-wool MAGAs have to say about things. Most of the conservatives who post here are not really Trump supporters; they just think Trump won't actually do what he's been promising to do. While that may be hopelessly naive, their contributions are not as illuminating as someone like Ramrouser, who actually WANTS Trump to be the authoritarian he's promised to be. Ramrouser WANTS us to stab our longtime international allies in the back. He WANTS us to punish the universities that are among the greatest engines of American innovation and exceptionalism. He WANTS LGBTQ+ Americans to be shoved back in the closet, and brown-skinned Americans to be shoved back across the border. He's proven himself time and time again to be utterly bereft of morals and principles, but that's what we need to be seeing these days. For better or worse, Ramrouser represents at least 40% of the country, and as far as I can tell, he's the only one of those millions of degenerate Americans who actually posts here on a regular basis.

It doesn’t take 4 years to go from the deciding to spend more to actually spending more.

Hey dumbass, the guideline was established in 2014. All of that increase during Trump's term was meeting obligations established by Obama. The goal all along was to increase spending over a decade. They did that. To the extent that any American president was responsible, it was Barack.

"
After Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, NATO’s heads of state and government agreed to spend 2% of their GDP on defense by 2024.

Stoltenberg on Thursday praised the alliance for its support of Ukraine, saying that NATO allies accounted for 99% of military aid to Kyiv."

Wow, 40% of this Country are "degenerate Americans." Good to know. Thanks for the honesty.
I'm a proud MAGA American but I do like to have some fun with it. I mean Trump Jr. flying to Greenland today with Charlie Kirk and a band of 30 something Bros is pretty funny. They've already met with MAGA hat wearing locals at a restaurant - which Trump spoke with them by phone. They're now going to meet with the leader of Greenland. That's entertaining. Not everything Trump does is a "threat to democracy" or an "Orbanization" of the US. When you strip away all the bluster, crassness, showmanship and "Art of the Deal" negotiation strategies, Trump has fairly mainstream Republican ideas. The things you wrote above about MAGA is what Dems have said (in some form) about every Republican in my lifetime - including Romney. You may not like Republican ideas but the Country will survive and thrive regardless of which party is in power.
