Don’t recall all you 1st Amendment’ ers being upset when Biden set up his Ministry of Truth, i.e the Department of Disinformation to monitor and censor conservatives and COVID dissenters.
You are such a gullible schmuck.

The Department of Homeland Security is stepping up an effort to counter disinformation coming from Russia as well as misleading information that human smugglers circulate to target migrants hoping to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border.

“The spread of disinformation can affect border security, Americans’ safety during disasters, and public trust in our democratic institutions,” the department said in a statement Wednesday. It declined The Associated Press’ request for an interview.

A newly formed Disinformation Governance Board announced Wednesday will immediately begin focusing on misinformation aimed at migrants, a problem that has helped to fuel sudden surges at the U.S. southern border in recent years. Human smugglers often spread misinformation around border policies to drum up business.

There was no censorship at all. You're just making things up.

And this is the new word? Dissenters? Do you dissent from arithmetic as well? What about filing deadlines? I have a feeling you dissent from logical argument in a large % of documents you submit to a court ever.

She didn't specify what part of the "political spectrum" but it's obvious what it is - to make news stories more MAGA-friendly and biased for Trump. Basically Fox lite, no matter how much Bari or the new CBS brass denies it. And CNN will be moving in that direction soon as well. Soon Trumpers will have firm control of CNN, CBS News, the WaPo, all local Sinclair TV stations around the country, and more. And they're not going to stop until practically every news outlet is under their control. No doubt they're already planning on ways to buy MSNBC, for example. We're seeing the creation of a massive state media/propaganda network right before our eyes. Orban couldn't be any prouder - his MAGA disciples have learned their lessons well.

And anybody who thinks this was accidental is fooling themselves. Conservatives have been very efficient in planning for the long term, and one clear goal of MAGAs has been to take control of as many news and social media outlets as possible and move them to the MAGA right. Liberals have already lost this battle and it's going to be very, very difficult for them to undo this right-wing network, even if they win back control of Congress and the Presidency.

And they've not stopped either. I'm sure that MSNBC is in their sights next, and then probably ABC and NBC News as well (MSNBC is a separate network from NBC now, I do believe).

Dang! Watching Kaitlan Collins carrying the water for Trump… as well as Mike fucking Pence!

The State Media didn’t take long after the monopolistic buyout.

Pence is spinning and Collins won’t ask any hardball questions.

I would have hoped Collins and many others at CNN would have tendered resignations post haste.

But no. Now we know it’s all about the money for both of them.
Fuck Em. Pence with his pious bullshit.

Collins turns her blind eye.

Hell, at least Tillis and MTG went down swinging for the fucking truth.
Not so, Pence / Collins.

You do understand that there has been no merger yet, right? And likely won't be till late this year or 2027?

Collins is not exactly the most aggressive questioner of all time.

They call it a “ merger” - the “transaction” but everybody knows it was a buyout and what will basically be a hostile takeover in terms of the CNN newsroom.

But my point is the ink is not even dry on the “merger” *cough* and I can plainly see where, in that interview at least, Collins was not only being less “aggressive” she was rolling over for Pence. Who is a pussy anyway.
It seemed like she was already towing her new party line, trying to keep her job at the new state-run media. She’d probably dye her hair blonde in a N.Y. minute

The deal is subject to regulatory approval. It is possible CNN will be spun out as part of the regulatory process. Even if Paramount keeps CNN, the deal won’t close for a long time.

I think you are reading too much into a softball interview, which is a longtime staple of CNN.

Probably.
