This is a song written by Danny Flowers, a guy that was in high school with me. He was in Don Williams' band who first recorded this song and covered later by Eric Clapton.

Danny has a cd "Forbidden Fruits and Vegetables" which includes "Tulsa Time"

That's a great song. While not in the vein of this thread, I absolutely love Don Williams. A great voice doing so many great songs.

Those were the only two Dead albums I listened to a lot. Never was seriously into them like a lot of other people I knew. I did like these two and still have my vinyl copies.

We are much in sync.

I LOVE R.L. BURNSIDE! HE'S AWESOME!

Also, let me tell my favorite R.L. Burnside story for y'all. He was charged with murder for killing a dude over some sort of gambling dispute (and was eventually convicted and served 6 months before he got out due to connections). In his trial, he claimed self-defense and went on to say...

"I didn't mean to kill nobody, I just meant to shoot the sonofabitch in the head. Him dying was between him and the Lord."

First song I thought of Jj grey country ghetto. Probably a little up tempo for what you’re asking for.

Love this band. Not even their best song.

Also Brent Cobb because someone put in red clay strays

And I know everyone is on Zach Bryan now but this song is my favorite of his. Gets dusty everyone I hear it

If we're just throwing out random country-adjacent stuff, let me introduce my favorite song about domestic violence...
