Shai is so much more fun to watch than Harden. I feel like you guys must’ve forgotten how painful it is to watch Harden — nobody has ever pounded the ball or baited refs more than he has. Luka is a much better comparison to Harden.

Shai baits of course, and any baiting is annoying as hell and I’ve said for years it should be subject to a retroactive video review board along with fines and suspensions for repeat violators…
BUT he’s still silky smooth through the D and electric with the midrange pull-ups and fades. He’s plenty fun to watch.
I don’t think the intention is to compare styles as much as intent and outcomes. As much as I did not enjoy watching mvp harden, I was guaranteed several moments of awe every game, with respect to his court vision. Same goes for Luka. With SGA, if you like the mid range maven and FTA game, cool. Not here to yuck your yum, I just find it tiresome, in a similar way I find Brunson’s game.

Yeah the way Shai gets to his spots over and over and rises for daggers, it’s elite and reminiscent of MJ, Kobe, KD. It’s so fluid, poetry in motion.

Brunson I like watching because of his deceptive strength, quickness, and balance. One of the smallest guys on the floor but he’s like a speedy little fire hydrant with defenders who you think have him locked up but they end up getting blown by or bouncing off of him. Hard not to root for him and be amazed by how he’s maximized his game.

So it’s a difference of opinion, because I dislike the foul baiting and egregious FTAs with any of them, but it pains me to watch Harden while I love watching SGA and Brunson.

Durant has said he prefers to be traded to Heat, Rockets or Spurs. Wants to win an NBA championship or doesn’t want to pay state income tax? 🤔😀

Spurs and Rockets make most sense, but if I’m SA I stay away. I don’t want Durant’s mopey discontentment around a young core of Wemby, Castle, Harper (though he probably is on the Suns in this scenario). Now, Durant with the mix of vets and young talent in Houston feels like a better fit.

In other news, Memphis trades Bane to Orlando for KCP, Cole Anthony, and four firsts. Feels like an overpay on Orlando’s part, IMO.

Four firsts for Desmond Bane? WTF? He got a better return than Luka?

Why is Caruso guarding Siakam?
Caruso guarding Jokic helped unlock okc’s defense in round one. Obviously didn’t work with Siakam last night, but the theory of the case has been Caruso is stout in the lower body and very good at fronting/denying. In the smaller lineups, this allows a higher pressure defense in the backcourt to trigger OkC’s chaos mode. In larger lineups, it frees Chet to rim protect.

First time Indy has trailed in these playoffs

Hali's variation in production from game to game is crazy

Amazing J-Dub game. Second best player in the series?

to be fair to haliburton, he does seem a bit injured.

he's gonna need to make a miraculous recovery to stretch this series to 7 games let alone for the pacers to win it.

Fronting/denying is a lot about effort and Caruso certainly as a high motor.

I would think that strategy would work better against Denver given how much of its offense goes through Jokic. Which is to say that the guards don't have all that much ball handling/creative ability taken as a group (unless I'm forgetting someone). So if you can get the ball out of Jokic' hands by pressuring him early and then swarm the guards it can work.

But Indiana's best player is their PG, and their guards and perimeter players in general are good handlers and at least somewhat creative. Taking Siakam out of the equation early in the shot clock doesn't seem like much of a win to me -- it's not as if Indiana wants to get Siakam the ball with 19 on the clock. The strategy forces the ball into the hands of . . . the guy they want to have it.

Agree. Doesn’t strike me as the best strategy, while humbly acknowledging Daignault may know a thing or two about defense I don’t. I would be inclined to have Caruso or Dort on Haliburton at all times, though putting Caruso on Siakam doesn’t allow a particularly favorable Haliburton/Siakam pick and roll switch.

Close-out game?? Or are the Pacers not out of miracles yet??

After the last game I was thinking tonight is it. But now my hunch says they pull off another one, even with a gimpy Haliburton. Home crowd carries them.

Or maybe that’s just me subconsciously rooting for a game 7.

i was already pulling for the pacers but that greasy shit by hartenstein on our boy tony bradley just ramped it up a bit.

what a bitch. the officials definitely didn't cover themselves in glory there, either.
