NBA thread

Knicks/Pacers proving to be two of the grittiest and most resilient teams ever. It’s astonishing.

Nesmith been the difference maker in this series on both ends

Gives you a little more than the typical 3 and D guy offensively

A 2020 re-draft would look interesting

Maybe neither team is particularly good. After all, each lost 30+ games.
Nobody claimed they’re great, especially when stacked against the best teams in the league. But they’re both still standing. And you don’t have to be great to go on a run like they have. You just have to be mostly healthy and tough. Both teams are.

But anyone who can’t appreciate their resolve and the jaw-dropping comebacks has missed out. Credit where credit is due.

And he was questionable with an ankle too.

He’s the biggest reason Indiana has overachieved but they seem to always have somebody or other make a big play or a smart play at every critical moment. It’s really something.

That said, I’m pretty over them and ready for the Thunder to put them back in their place. Haliburton has started to get on my nerves where I used to root for him as an underdog.

NYK made that run in game 3 when he went out too

I can't hate on Hali. I was high on him coming into the league, couldn't believe that SAC chose Fox over him

Didn't think he'd ascend this quickly though. Annoying traits aside he's exactly what you want in a PG. Feel like his defense is slightly underrated too

But yeah, not sure I really want to see them win it either. OKC should have enough for them

The most underrated aspect of TH's game -- and why he's much better than the media narratives would suggest -- is his miniscule TO rate. He's Lawson-esque in that regard (speaking of Lawson in college; I think TH has a lower TO rate in the league than did Ty though there's some comparison of apples to oranges there).

i love haliburton's game. dude is damn good.

he definitely kinda flirts with the villain role, some of his antics are a bit much and tiresome and his dad's behavior after the pacers closed out the bucks was totally unacceptable, so you can see that he probably comes by his attitude honestly.

Continuing with the original theme of the thread:

Wow, lead basically the whole game then play like shit for 2 minutes and lose. Damn.

That Pacers are not real. They are a movie. Hollywood movie like the Disney kind that nobody believes is possible but still enjoys because it’s against all odds and heartwarming.

Unreal.

This run by Hali in late games is unbelievable and unprecedented

And of course not possible without brilliant teams efforts

9 guys score 5+ and no one cracks 20 in a NBA finals game

Winning a game while -18 in turnovers. On the road

that was amazing. the pacers just kept whittling away. when SGA missed the jumper it felt inevitable and sure enough it was.

the pacers bench outplayed the thunder bench and holmgren was a no-show. okc probably can't count on SGA going for 38 every game.

i had my doubts before last night but indiana absolutely has a path to winning this thing.

Can't believe how many I heard calling for a sweep

Indy's style of play just isn't something most teams have in them and you can throw those regular season defensive metrics out the window

Still think OKC finds a way but we should be in for another fun series

And you would think this would’ve endeared him to me by now. What he’s done is astonishing.

But over the course of these playoffs I’ve gone from casually rooting for him as an underdog, to “here’s my wallet, just take it and please go away…”

SGA had 2 FTs at the start of the 4Q. Chatter about his diving has been going around. Sometimes the refs respond to that with a one game reprieve. I bet he shoots 16-20 FTs in G2
