Crazy. So UNC has played 8 of the 10 best KenPom teams ever, and has played a total of 14 games against the 10 best KenPom teams ever, with 9 of those games against the top 3.

1. It was a mostly made-up scandal. The actual transgressions -- once you remove some false allegations from narcisssistic weirdos -- were small fries; it was a football program thing; and the basketball coaches didn't know about it.

2. I have no proof of that policy. I have no evidence of that policy, other than what I have read on message boards in various places. I have read that on quite a few message boards, but message boards are not a reliable source of information even in the aggregate (esp. since they are extremely prone to information cascades. I will not assert it against any pushback, because I don't know.

I took this thread to be casual talk. I'd go one step further than "not worth much" and say its non-zero worth would feature many 0s after the decimal point.

Yes, it was a made-up scandal that was handled poorly by Holden Thorp. An investigation by a former GOP governor said there was nothing to see here as did the NCAA.

I was an executive producer of an award winning documentary ( "Unverified: The Untold Story Behind The UNC Scandal " ) which demonstrates it was largely a media created scandal inspired by two disgruntled UNC faculty members which did harm to many honest and hardworking folks within the athletic department.

They haven’t looked like the team that beat Auburn so far in this tournament

The only team i would say that looks to be playing tight at times

Glad Duke is seeing Houston in the FF because I don’t trust Florida right now

Houston at least plays such a different style that maybe it will cause issues

Yeah, some dook fan basically said that since someone mentioned it and anyone is allowed to post here that the scandal was "fair game". They seem to have missed that this also clearly a UNC fans board and while fans of other schools are generally welcomed, coming here and pissing on the host school likely isn't going to go over very well.

I figured, and it's not like you don't defend your positions well, in any event. But as Mulberry describes above, pissing on the host school is not a good look.

I remember when IC ZZLP went away, and a dookie invited us to the DD (in good faith I'm sure) and we were welcomed to discuss politics (in good faith, for the most part) and many went there (in good faith)... BUT (big but) there were many on that site who questioned the wisdom of inviting Heels into the Devils Den. I certainly get that. And if we had pissed on them - on that board - we would have been shown the door quicker than Hubert showed EC the door. And I get that too.

But on this board, I'm not going to piss on their boots and tell them it's raining. I'll simply piss on their boots and tell them I'm pissing on their boots and if they don't like it, tough. They can ignore me or better yet, they can go back to DD to discuss their team and throw shade on ours. But to come here and throw shade? About that particular topic of all things? Nah, not having it.

Well, I'd have a better case for being offended if I wasn't talking smack and making silly claims. So that's kind of a personal aspect there that isn't present for other posters.

More to the point, I'm not going to try to dictate to you what you should or shouldn't be offended by. I expressed that I wasn't offended by it, and that's all I meant. It was applicable to me only.

Duke 3P shooting must regress if Houston has a chance. Interested to see if Tugler can do anything with Flagg

Florida-Auburn with a a lot of interesting matchups. All the size FL can throw at Broome and two loaded back courts

Just FYI, kenpom ratings are not meant to be compared across seasons because the ratings are against an "average" team in each season and the "average" varies from year to year.

This year the "average" team is very soft, so it is likely that the ratings at the extremes are somewhat inflated.
