Hey Ted, money is speech, didn't you know that? Oh wait, you litigated a case all the way to the Supreme Court claiming a First Amendment right to solicit funds after the election to repay your own loans? So you do know that giving money for political expression is constitutionally protected. Huh.

No one calls it "the I-5."

It is "the 5" if you live in SoCal and it is "I-5" in the rest of country. I don't know where this weird amalgamation of SoCal talk and normal freeway talk came from, but it needs to stop.

Also, that stretch of the 5 is one of the busiest freeways in the entire state on a weekend. It makes a 75 minute trip to San Diego a 2.5 hour trip on the regular. Shutting it down for a missile exhibition at Pendleton will move all the traffic to the 15, which is already a hellhole on the weekend, and will be an absolute disaster if it needs to handle 250% of the regular weekend traffic.

Protesting has become my part- time job on the weekend. I don’t know what I am protesting but they are paying 25 a hour to hold a sign. Only in America.

You are being underpaid protesting. I'm getting $50/hr to protest. I also get paid a lump sum of $300 just to attend a Trump rally.

This is what makes America great !

True story. After the 2016 election there was a big push to force congressional representatives to hold town halls. Of course none of the Republicans wanted to do that and get taken to task, but they didn't feel like they could avoid it completely either (seems kinda quaint now), so smarmy David Rouzer decides he gonna hold a town hall, but not in Wilmington where the majority of his constituents live, but in out near Shallotte where he felt like he had better odds of packing the house. Oh, and it was on a Tuesday a 2pm, strategically designed to be the most inconvenient time and place possible for anyone with a job to attend.

So I took the day off work, made myself a sign and drove and hour plus to let my congressmen know what I felt about his policy choices. There were maybe a dozen of us with signs and we were told we had to stand about 100 yards away from the building or something. When Rouzer arrived I heard him comment to one of his staffers that we were "paid protesters".

I'll be damned. I took a day off work, got in my car and drove an hour just to be at your "as inconveniently located and timed town hall as possible" and you have the gall to call me a paid protester?

To this day I don't know if he was being disingenuous, or if he lived entirely in a media bubble divorce from reality. I honestly think these two things have melded and now there's not really a distinction between the two. One part of the brain disingenuously but loving curates a reality free media bubble so the other part of the brain can can chug along free of cognitive dissonance.

You sound like one of "The Californians" from the SNL skit, Calheel.

Everybody knows that protesting is a huge waste of time and energy. The only real way to express your dissatifaction with your government is to put a Gadsden Flag sticker on your automobile. You might consider plastering the flag all over your FB profile too. That'll really show them that you aren't messing around.

One could argue that alleging "antifa" in the crowd or that Biden (somehow) put scores of agents or agitators among the Capitol rioters is Trump/MAGA projection.

It would definitely do well to be vigilant for something like this if you are attending a protest on Saturday; they are absolutely capable of and are likely to do it.
