OFFICIAL ELECTION RESULTS - CONGRESS | GOP takes Senate | GOP retains House majority

It appears the GOP will pick up FIVE more Senate seats (on top of earlier flips in WVa and Ohio) three female Senators — Slotkin, Baldwin and Rosen — as well as Tester and Casey all appear headed for losses to GOP men.

And that’s how bad a candidate Lake is in AZ that she couldn’t win on a night of GOP dominance in the Senate.

The judiciary will be completely remade with anyone Trump wants over the next two years.

And Trump can probably get just about anyone he wants confirmed for his cabinet.

Damn. To be honest I haven't been following the congressional results that closely, just NC results and the presidential race. If the GOP gained that many seats in the Senate and take the House then a national abortion ban will most certainly be on the table, as will lots of Project 2025 items. This is literally a dream come true for Trumpers, and a nightmare for just about everybody else. We're going to be run by a troika of Trump, Musk, and RFK, Jr. Fun times!

Weirdly, Dems have a chance to narrowly take the House. That won’t be known for a while though.

After tonight my hopes for any good outcome from this election are pretty much shot. I'll just assume that Republicans will keep the House as the perfect way to end a perfect disaster of an election. The only thing that gives me any hope at all is that at least Stein, Green, and Jackson won in NC and Stein will have veto power. Beyond that is nothing but ashes.

Yeah. Basically the worst possible outcome. It’s 3 am. And I still can’t wrap my head around this. I need to find another therapist.

I know, but given the epic disaster that was last night - not only with Trump but in the Senate - I'll take whatever small shreds of hope I can get. Yeah, nationally and internationally we're totally fucked, period.

What is awful is that Mark Robinson received 40% of the vote and is evidence that outside the Research Triangle, the Triad, Charlotte, and Asheville NC is a shithole state
