I don't remember. That would actually be unlike me. I don't care to drink top shelf in bars. I generally drink something along the lines of Ancient Ancient Age or such. I'm not a miser but I do squeak a little when I walk and paying bar prices for premium brands just ain't me.

I was buying.

That would make a difference. I'd drink your liquor, not something I will do with just anybody. It's an old fashioned quirk.

In fact, in those days it was a private club and you were my "guest." I remember very well where you sat...at the end of the bar near the front...but you did not have your back to the door.

Your memory is better than mine but that sure sounds right. Tended toward the edges of everything.

Reading post like this, it seems that a lot of the posters here have met each other, and many back on the old ZZL had met each other.

I've never knowingly met anyone, though I've met a lot of UNC fans over the years. I've had a couple of invites, but I get so anxious even thinking about meeting people. If I am ever in NYC, I hope to meet up with NYCBB.

Hey...I live in NYC about 1/2 the time. Would love to meet.

He was very quiet and reserved, not much of a conversationalist. At the time he was working for Klett Rooney (the Rooney in Klett Rooney is the owner of the Steelers, and that firm has since merged with a much larger firm in PGH.). My company was HQed in PGH and before we left he asked about the the legal representation of my employer. I told him we had in-house counsel and he handled any external legal relationships. He gave me his card and asked me to pass it to my coworker. My coworker later called me and told me he did speak with gr1111 and was invited to a Steelers game in Klett Rooney's suite which he accepted, but nothing ever came of it. I believe he is still working for the merged firm which I think is Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney.
If I recall, gr11111 had a heath crisis and quit his law firm to work as a clerk of some sort in a courtroom.

I've met a few people from the old TDD, including aGdevil2k. One of the posters I met in 2009 is one of my best friends to this day.

Seriously, how did this thread get to be eight pages without someone mentioning Bluey? That show is not just about teaching kids how to deal with life's challenges, it's every bit as much about teaching young (and not so young) parents how to parent.

No matter how good a parent you think you are (or have been), you will never ever be as good a parent as Bluey's mom and dad. That show is a master class in parenting.

Despite being a kid's show it doesn't shy away from some tough subjects, either. For example, there's an episode about how Bluey's mom needs a break from the kids, like literally, "I can't take being a parent another minute, I'm going to remove myself from my family and take the day off to get my shit together". How do you do that? How do the mom and dad talk to the kids about that? Serious stuff.

Not sure about later seasons (quality is hard to sustain over the long run) but season 1 of Bluey is some of the best television ever made.

Years back a couple of posters at ACCBoards.com met and married one another. Several of us attended their wedding and word nametags with our handles written on them.

Sounds like Bluey's mom has a potty mouth.

About 4 days ago, I asked my (almost) 3 year old if he wanted to watch Bluey. He said okay.

He now has Bluey diapers, shorts, T-Shirt, sweat pants, hoodie (which he initially wore all at the same time, he was so excited about them), toothpaste, stuffed animals, and bubble bath lol

Our new favorite game is "Crazy Pillow" where I lay my head on his tummy and he pretends to go to sleep while he touches my nose and squirms, both of us laughing uncontrollably.

It is *such* a great show. I'm now a huge fan. And you're 100% right that it gives us great, great role models for parenting, parent-child interactions, and just being a decent person in general. It also gives me a fantastic excuse to work on my Australian accent. This is yesterday:
