Democratic attorneys general from states including New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are moving to keep funds flowing to state governments and cities.

The move was announced by Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, at a news conference in the Capitol on Tuesday morning. Among the states joining the suit are New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Delaware.

“My office will be taking imminent legal action against this administration’s unconstitutional pause on federal funding,” the New York attorney general, Letitia James, wrote on social media on Tuesday. “We won’t sit idly by while this administration harms our families.”

WHYYYY are Dems so determined to rescue Trump from the consequences of his idiocy? Why don't we see what happens when Red America burns to the ground for lack of federal funding??? I mean, I appreciate that I'm in the party that actually cares about ALL Americans, but at some point, you just have to let them FO for their FAs.

It used to be you didn’t want the Principal to know you have multiple certifications… especially if you had the position you preferred. The last thing you want is for them to find out you have a math cert. and then they move you to 9th grade algebra. Ugh.
You always want to keep those extra certifications on the down low and only utilize when you need/want to. Looks like you can pull out that card up your sleeve now.

Maybe they won't ask for a nationwide injunction, choosing instead for an injunction limited to the plaintiff states.

Fortunately, my current principal was a teacher at my school when I started, and has also been here long enough that he knows me in all three roles, and knows what I do for the school. As long as he is that he school, I essentially have my choice of roles.

Farm labor was always pretty much ignored. I was picking blueberries and dewberries in the Peter's Creek community in Sampson County when I was 10. It was sporadic and they paid by the pint so the kids would drop by and pick for a hour or a day or whatever they wanted.

By the time I was 13 , I was working in the tobacco fields cropping tobacco on foot and loading it on carts to be taken back to the barn to be tied. Sometime the carts were pulled by a tractor and a few times by a mule.

I kinda figured farm labor was a soft “exception”, but was surprised he was so far off about the period when child labor laws became a thing.

That fucking jackass was born in Las Vegas and graduated from a high school in downtown Portland. He might have done some berry picking on occasion but I'm guessing the idea that he helped feed his family picking berries is unadulterated bullshit.

Maybe because FA would mean complete economic devastation with extreme unemployment, possible starvation, etc.

I do think we need a FA phase but this particular one might just be too extreme.
