Antigua, Guatemala. This guy was unable to walk. He pulled himself along the sidewalk all day long with a little whisk broom sweeping. He was well-known and much beloved. I haven’t seen him since the pandemic.

Things that aren't there anymore. The Tallywood shopping center sign in Fayetteville. ETA: I WAS WRONG. As of 2024, and thanks to Publix, the Tallywood Sign LIVES!!!

Oldest (known) Long Leaf Pine in the world, over 470 years old. Located in Weymouth Woods Natural Area near Southern Pines, NC.

ETA: If you go to Weymouth Woods, this tree is not marked. Get a description of its location from the internet. Pretty sad commentary on our society that the State of North Carolina believes it is prudent to not only not identify, with signs, this tree but to also decide not to have on on-site designation of the world's oldest (over 2,600 years old) bald cypress tree, located in the Three Sisters Swamp in Balden County. FYI, this might be just a random pine tree in Weymouth Woods that I falsely identified, so as to foil any right wingers who want to "own the libs."
