Look-In: Every outing moving forward is a moment of truth. Today’s confrontation with Pitt feels particularly weighty. There is nothing to like about Pittsburgh, the least of which being a coach that hails from the program in derm. Most important though is that they stand in the way. Impeding the Tar Heels today are two other native North Carolinians (Capel was born in Fayetteville), Winston-Salem’s Zach Austin – #55, 6-7, Sr. 9 ppg, 4 rpg. Kinston’s Damien Dunn – #1, 6-5, 10 ppg. Austin hurt Carolina powerfully last outing (5 blocks and 3 three-pointers for 15 points) and Dunn is coming off a big game in a tight loss to Wake (24 points, 3 treys). The Panther backcourt of Jaland Lowe and ISHMAELLEGGETT are a potent duo as well (both going for 16-17 ppg and rebounding like forwards). Pitt also has size to throw into the paint in the towering Canario Diaz Graham twins (Jorge at 6-11 and Guillermo at 7-0), Cam Corhen (6-10, 10.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg) and Senegal’s Papa Amadou Kante (6-10). Their backs are to the wall as well.

Frontcourt: A smart Washington, a physical Lubin, and an athletic Brown. Throw in a fired up Claude for good measure.

Wings: Soaring Captain Jack joined by a Charging Chathamite (Jackson and Powell). The Good Withers.

Guards: A Thinking Fellers Cadeau, a physically tuned Davis, and a positive Trimble.

Overall: No room for error now. The Tar Heels need this one. Looking past this game will do no one any good because a loss today would make the climb infinitely more difficult. The rhythmic prognostications are hopeful: On the wings the freshmen are athletic. Our main point man has his wits about him as well while our fifth year man, R.J., is physical. Lubin is a strong man and Washington (who sat out the last battle with Pitt) is sharp. Trimble is a can-do guy. The Good Withers appears to be on site. A week’s practice, pondering, and preparation will, with good fortune, bring some new approaches that cut turnovers and propel young men to the rim on offense and play up quickness and sagacity on defense (watch for some new stuff). The biorhythms point to another hard-fought contest between two cornered squads. The Heels defend home today. It’ll be warm (for February) and overcast in Chapel Hill – perfect ACC Basketball weather. Perfect for sending the Panthers packing. Vegas says UNC by 4.5. The Ritmos say Carolina by 7.

Lol, I woke up this morning with a similar feeling to a dentist appointment. I know i need to go but I surely don't want to.

Maybe a window into whether this team has any fight left or is just going to pack it in and start making pro or portal plans.
Exactly. It's Fight or Flight day. But it's also the day Hubert needs to go Roy-Dean and jerk the 5 starters out before the first TV timeout should they come out of the gate lackadaisically. Sit em all down and put in the Blue Team. That's what Dean and Roy would have done, and something Hubert "should" have done numerous times over the past 3.5 years.

Maybe some screens for RJ on the ball and some screens and cuts off the ball would get some open shots instead of throwing up everything 1 on 1 off the dribble. Just a thought.
