"“In most of the cases — 121 of the 210 — the information later used against the women was obtained or disclosed in a medical setting, researchers found.”"

[paywall for me on underlying Rolling Stone article]

Setting betting odds on eventual reversal by GA supreme court:
Reversal -250
Affirm +300
Yeah, you’re right, and I’m not putting money on it. I was mainly responding to the political implications 35 days out from a major election. I don’t know how it cuts, but I can’t help but think it’s a pretty big deal.

Did you mix those lines up? You're saying that affirmation is unlikely? I think it is very likely to be reversed on appeal. Do you know something I don't?

No.

+300 gets you $300 (plus your original $100 bet) if it is affirmed.
-250 gets you $100 (plus your original $250 bet) if it is reversed.

Oh, right. Plus is the underdog. I often get that confused. It's sort of embarrassing, really. Not a mistake I should make -- not more than once, at least. And yet. What's worse is that I looked it up and still fucked up. In fairness, I had just gotten back from the dentist and my mouth hurts like a mfer, and also I've never bet on sports. Still, I used to teach finance. I really should be able to convert moneyline bets into odds, expected values, etc.

Melania's recent memoir states she supports abortion rights for women. MAGA not going to be happy. Surprising she would state that since she is going along with the fake happy marriage and support of Trump (though she was never in court for him).

Meh. Republicans have a long history of having their wives soften the abortion debate with more moderate personal positions that don’t impact the actual policy goals of curtailing or eliminating abortion rights.

Has a vibe of "but Nancy is great friends with Rock!"
