I work in vaccine development. It’s not great. Originally we had 3 different phase 3 trials of next-generation mRNA vaccines (seasonal flu, avian flu, COVID) originally slated to start this year. Those are now on hold to get a better picture of the new regulatory environment.

The WHO meeting to determine the composition of the next year’s seasonal flu vaccine is in a few weeks. The FDA meeting is a few weeks after that and typically relies on WHO data to make their decision. FDA almost always follows the WHO recommendation. FDA isn’t currently willing/able to communicate if they will have access to that data or when/if they they will hold the public meeting.

The regulatory uncertainty combined with slashing funds for research and development goes way beyond vaccines. It’s beyond the worst case scenario. China and Europe are going to kill us in pharma/biomedical innovation for the foreseeable future as a direct result of the last few weeks.
Great. Lord help us.

I did read the rest of the post. What Kennedy said is 100% false. What you did was try to sanewash what he said.

My comment was that he was absolutely wrong. And he was.
Its not 100% false. There appear to be differences in immune response between blacks and whites based on several peer reviewed studies that were referenced in the article I linked.

God help us all.

We will have the best Russian vodka while biting the bullet, blood letting, swallowing laudanum elixirs, and Texas sized leeches latched onto us.

Wait. Is this true?
True

Louisiana forbids public health workers from promoting COVID, flu and mpox shots

"Staffers were told that it applies to every aspect of the health department's work: Employees could not send out press releases, give interviews, hold vaccine events, give presentations or create social media posts encouraging the public to get the vaccines. They also could not put up signs at the department's clinics that COVID, flu or mpox vaccines were available on site."

Louisiana already has a horrid vaccination rate compared to the national average. Only 11% of kids have the flu vaccination this year compared to the national average of 40%, according to the CDC. This is going to make it even worse.

I had no idea so many people suffer from psoriasis. There must be big bucks in psoriasis medications.
I never knew that some men's penis looks like a bent carrot and hurts, until I watched one of those informative commercials on Peyronie's disease.

Who needs doctors? We need more commercials.

That eliminates a road trip through Louisiana in the near future.
