Agree, but infidelity is way different than rape.
No doubt. I leave that to the proper legal processes.

(I don’t even know if he is or was married then, but clearly he has some judgment issues about sex partners at best — there have to be better candidates for governor)

I could see her thinking the first time they just got carried away and the second time something happening to make her realize she was manipulated both times.
So, if you were her, you don't monitor your alcohol intake? Not go back to his/her place?

I am clueless how I would react in any situation that involves me being female yet way too smart to imagine that I can think enough like one to have one.

Seems like he had a pattern of flattering youthful employees, using his position of authority as an "in" to begin conversations with them that he later steered in sexual directions.
I don't like "rape" accusations coming from nights where two people went out and drank heavily together, because one person remembers it the next day and the other doesn't that is SA?
That being said, he definitely displays repeated poor judgment, especially considering he's a married father of 3.
This will be the end of him for a handful of years.

"A woman who worked for nearly two years for Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading candidate for California governor, said she had sexual encounters with him while he was her boss and alleged he twice sexually assaulted her when she was too intoxicated to consent."

I'm not drawing any conclusion here, but if someone takes you out drinking, gets you drunk and rapes you, would you go out drinking with them again?
I just wish that both sides would hold their elected leaders accountable for sexual misconduct.
